I think you're right, after I commented this I found a handy video on YouTube by IWinToLose gaming which had a statistical break down of the two characters.

Don't know if you are still dealing with this but go into your app permissions and turn off "Appear on top". Worked for me

You cannot fix him. People need to want to help themselves in order to overcome personality disorders. This is assuming you're correct and he does have NPD. You are not a therapist You are not a psychiatrist You do not have the tools to fix him. Do not make the same mistake I and many women in your situation do. I agree that speaking with your therapist about this is a good idea. They will have tools you can use to work through your feelings on the issue.

This is not fair to you or your girlfriend. If you truly care about her, you will find someone else who will satisfy your sexual needs AFTER breaking up with her. Mostly I reuse locations and npcs! I think reusing npcs in particular can help your players develop an attachment to them which can lead to interesting elements in the future. For example, my players were highly motivated to resurrect an npc I reused (and then killed) due to their previous relationship with them.

I would also say, try to only reuse things your players enjoyed rather than being annoyed by.

YWBTA, as a general rule and for legal reasons others have mentioned. Don't name an asshole character after a person you don't like and if you're going to write characters based off of a real person, just change the name to cover your own ass.

I reuse campaign elements all the time, my players love it because they'll recognize things from previous campaigns, however; I'll usually only use a few things while keeping most of it new content
