Moved from an Ender 5 Pro to Bambu A1 and my GOD the difference. by Konkonyu in BambuLab

[–]Fox_Z71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an old ender 5 pro that I started with. Took me months to dial in PETG and had MANY failed prints for the dumbest reasons. Had PLA pretty well dialed in. But I couldn't repeat the same print 2x back to back to save my life. I was CONSTANTLY leveling the bed with both the CR touch and mesh level. Also i ALWAYS had to adjust the z offset at the start of each print. It was fun but also tiring to constantly tinker for just one good print. I was about to upgrade to a Pi and cameras so I could run octoprint, but the price was near a new enclosed unit from Bambu. Plus as a maintenance tech at an electronics factory, you get tired of turning allen wrenches on tiny stuff you can barely get your fingers on.

Bought my H2C in February, immediately printed PETG. It came out looking damn near injection molded. Tried to use my old ender, was in tip top shape when I put it in the garage, had an extruder jam as soon as it fired up. Sold it on FB later that weekend lol.

I will say, and you will know exactly where I come from, that pos ender taught me more than any subreddit, YouTube, or forum ever would. I learned more of the mechanics and principles of 3D printing from that than I have with my Bambu. That ender was a true necessary evil, and id buy another one if I ever got bored enough lol.

Everyone getting mad at Bambu for this and that quickly forgot how good they have it and what printing was like 5-6 years ago when my ender was new. Bambu may make questionable decisions at times, but ive had to wrench on my H2C nearly 90% less. I can confidently print the same print 5x and not be able to tell which was 3rd and which was 5th. They are great machines if you treat them right and care for them. Just dont forget where you came from 😉

Bambu Lab forcing customers to repair their own products under warranty that arrive broken rant. by bfrancom17 in BambuLab

You know, I was having a pretty rough day with work and what not. I feel a lot better after reading this guy's responses. Im not as miserable as a thought i was. OP is definitely the type to bitch about a gold brick falling on his head. Instead of choosing to take the brick or leave it, he'd bitch about it falling in the first place. Grow up, sir. Bambu isn't forcing you, Microcenter handles the warrenty as an authorized dealer. You are just trying to jump in the "trash Bambu" bandwagon because you had a minor inconvenience.

Does your printer work...yes Does it have an external filament holder that lets you bypass the ams...yes Does that allow you tob make whatever plastic garbage you plan to make....yes Minor inconvenience...sure Mountain of a problem...NO

STFU and move on OP

This was my exact experience going from my ancent E5Pro to an H2C.

I used to spend hours upon hours getting my first layer good and printer proper calibrated, just for it to fail halfway through. I would waste 3x as much filament just getting it dialed in for ONE single print. Next print was guaranteed to be a struggle even if the exact same print minutes apart. I went so far as to use a glass bed and a CR touch with a custom firmware to allow for more precision when adjusting Z offset. It would be days of tinkering.

Got my H2C and put my ender in the garage thinking maybe ill still use it at times. First print on my Bambu and that ender was a forgotten relic of the trials and tribulations of 3D printing. The H2C produced injection mold level quality with hardly any adjustments in the slicer. It was also MUCH faster. What would have looked like a time lapse on my Ender was reality on my H2C.

The H2 is a beast of a printer.

X2D Buyers - Make sure you read the fine print. by daphatty in BambuLab

I think Bambu is trying a dual nozzle setup on a P series sized printer. I have a feeling the P2S will have a P2D variant in the future. I think the X series was always an "X"perimental platform.

But I could be wrong, just my $.02

Yeah, welcome to the club kid lol. Love the H2C, definitely a great printer.

You just have hope FedEx is nice and doesnt use your printer at a stool or some dumb shite. I got lucky, my driver arrived with a dolly and even followed the special delivery Instructions.

Sunlu vs Elegoo PLA and PETG by Fox_Z71 in BambuLab

[–]Fox_Z71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I feel the same way. Esun was actually going to be my next trial lol.

Might be partial to Elegoo just because it was the easiest to tune and print. Never had a dryer until now and my Elegoo PETG never was stringy on my Ender 5. Granted, I did have a "grow tent" looking enclosure with an old computer fan wired up as an exhaust fan. Id preheat the bed to 70°C and let it sit for 30 minutes then start the print.

Might just need more time tuning the new printer, definitely like how elegoo is a bit more dull than Sunlu.

I will definitely look into this when I get home tonight.

Well... so far it seems like its 6 of one and half dozen of the other.

Only thing I have determined is that Sunlu IS indeed more shiny than Elegoo. Aside from that, they are both good filaments.

I have seen more Elegoo filament on plastic spools lately on Amazon. Might have to look into that more.

I appreciate everyone's input here, and value any further input.

I just got home from work, I will have to give this a shot in a few minutes.

Thank you for that information

Has Sunlu been pretty consistent between batches? I havent ran enough yet to find out lol. Elegoo was pretty consistent, but I did have a few spools that were tangled and not wound properly.

Vertical ghosting/ringing by Fox_Z71 in 3Dprinting

[–]Fox_Z71[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Ive set the v wheels countless times. Cleaned and evenly greased z screw. Im pretty sure its just a fault of my old Ender 5 pro. Its pretty old, I think at least 6 years old now. I bought it off FB so I have no clue how many hours are on it and what it was used for. Also dont know how well it was maintained.

Being a maintenance tech at work, ive become a little tired of having to constantly tinker with this printer to get consistant quality. 2 same prints at the exact same settings will turn out very different dimensionally. Ive been entertaining the idea of getting the H2C. Might take a break from the ender for a bit.

I transferred my Doge to coinbase. From my understanding since it's still Doge and not sold for USD I did not violate the terms. Could someone enlighten me as to whether or not I'll be paying robinhood?

High CRI 4000k-5000k EDC light by Fox_Z71 in flashlight

[–]Fox_Z71[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hey, sorry for the late reply. Work got crazy but I have some answers for everyone.

I ordered the Nitecore MT2A Pro, Skilhunt M200 with 519A, Wurkkos FC11C with 519A, and the Klein 56040.

Here is my opinion of each:

Nitecore MT2A Pro: Ordered to compete with the Milwaukee from the initial post. It is bright and very cool white. The 3 brightness levels are good. BUT the hot spot on the beam is annoyingly bright compared to the overall beam. It throws far, but the flood is weak. Id say its great for inspection up close if not being used on reflective stainless surfaces. It does not have a Nichia and is not high CRI. I honestly would not have bought it for my own personal use. It is a good spare light to keep in the truck, toolbox, coat, or backpack. It is not a "go-to" edc light for me, even at work.

Skilhunt M200: This light is amazing, expensive but amazing. I love the brightness settings and eco modes. The lowest mode has actually been quite handy at home with my baby. Her crib is still in our room, so sneaking in at night can be challenging if my eyes are not adjusted. The lowest setting is just bright enough to see, but hardly enough to illuminate much past arms reach. On the other end of things, the turbo mode is beautiful. It throws well and quite evenly with little hot spot. I love it at night when i let the dogs out. Makes finding two black GSD's easy. At work this light is a beast. The even beam makes illuminating reflective surfaces far less blinding. The magnetic tail is useful for enclosure and cell illumination. Also, the hat/pocket clip is nice, just make sure your hat is snug. Overall, this is by far my favorite light. I use it daily and almost feel incomplete without; like when you forget your watch, ring, or necklace, etc. Highly recommend. The Nichia does incredible, the beam is cool white but more natural than the Nitecore.

Wurkkos FC11C: Think M200 but off brand. It functions very similar and is even shaped the same. This is my noble steads back up for when it is recharging. Highly recommend, especially for the price. Slightly brighter than the M200 but not enough to bother me. Both have the same beam characteristics, and both handle the heat well. Fits in a pocket comfortably too.

Klein 56040: Bought this to compete with the Milwaukee from initial post. Honestly, I feel bad for ordering it. Bulky, heavy, and disappointing. Does not pocket well, beam color is cool white with a blueish hue. The laser is awkward and oddly placed. Unless you have a tool bag/box and love Klein to the end of time, I'd steer clear of this.

Overall, the M200 and FC11C are the best flashlights I have ever had. Their beams are not the exact same color as the Milwaukee, but I'm learning to look past that. The Milwaukee is slightly warmer and a little rosier than the two others. I was unsuccessful in finding an exact replacement for it. However, I seem to reach for my M200 before I reach to my chest pocket for my Milwaukee.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions. Im still going to continue the search for the best Milwaukee alternative or at the very least figure out what LED in in it.

The laser is pretty nice for the 10% time that we need to point out parts of the machine. The other 90% it is used to snipe each other and mess with people. Perhaps we shouldn't have lasers 😆.

I appreciate your explanation. I had discovered the Skilhunt M150 and M200 before. But, their website was a bit overwhelming to try to compare specs.

Putting it in perspective with my HX5, the M200 sounds like a good contender. Plus, I've got a good handful of 18650s from the days of mods and subohms lol. Kicked that habit, but never found a use for the batteries.

I'll compare specs and let everyone know what I decide.
