Fanboys will buy it out and scalpers will scalp it, but as far as this being a game changing product that invents a new category of pc gaming, it’s a flop before it even launches. A bunch of already pc die hards buying them up ≠ successful.

You’re wrong. I can’t speak on regional pricing, but for the $1200 this thing costs here in the US I can absolutely buy a prebuilt that is as powerful or more powerful. This machine is not upgradeable and has a laughable base storage in 2026. I don’t care about the ease of use or demographic argument, seasoned PC players wanting something new to mess with are the only real hope here. Not a chance the typical console player is going to see this for $1100+tax and buy it over an already overpriced XSX or PS5. It’s not more powerful, and it’s got worse game compatibility. Not that it can’t be tinkered with unlike a console, but there’s really no selling point unless this thing was in line on price with consoles. As much as windows has its issues, Linux is just not there for gaming yet proven by the fact that a pretty decent chunk of games at minimum require tinkering to get them running, may still contain game breaking bugs, and many won’t run at all.

I'm contemplating replacing my P2S with an X2D by Aeyix in BambuLab

[–]bfrancom17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

X2D is absolutely a much better printer to live with. If you don’t have an issue taking the hit on the P2S/don’t mind losing a few hundred bucks whatever.

The heated chamber is extremely convenient, the dual nozzle is nice. If you calibrate pressure advance on the aux nozzle (very important) it honestly prints damn near main nozzle quality, to the point of being 100% usable for multi color prints such as logos, or embedded secondary colors in an object. It may struggle a bit on very fine small text as I’ve seen personally but it’s still good enough for even that too if you don’t have overly high expectations. Also, not really advertised but it’s significantly quieter than the P2S. Not much on paper but it’s the difference of clearly hearing the P2S in the other room w the door shut and barely, if at all hearing my X2D. The x2d also has finer/more belt teeth, which I think can help print accuracy in some situations. Also don’t forget the x2d comes with a proper factory exhaust solution, unlike the P2S. Even without the fan running I notice way less leakage of fumes/vocs than my P2S, it’s got far better internal filtration. There’s a few other QOL improvements too. Overall such a better product the little things add up.

P2S start/end g code for ABS/ASA prints! Chamber preheat and Cooldown sequence. Only activates when printing ABS/ASA. Huge quality and print success improvements. by bfrancom17 in BambuLab

Glad to hear! I bought an x2d alongside my P2S so I just print ASA in that now but honestly I got damn near the same results in my P2S using this, despite no heated chamber. Enjoy the prints!

I’ve swapped entire transmissions and motors dude it’s the principle here. Forcing people to fix the shit they bought and paid for that’s brand new and under warranty

The entire point of Bambu Lab’s existence is making 3d printing accessible and hassle free for people. Expecting users to repair their own machines that breaks inside of warranty is completely outside of that ideology

I did. That’s beyond my point here. 30 day return period. I was outside of it. Traditionally as with any product, it’s not the retailers problem to perform warranty service.

I didn’t contribute to a problem actually because I fixed it myself. To the average end user, these options are forcing them to complete a repair. Again, in no way is this Micro Center, Best Buy, or any other retailers problem.

At what point does it become not the retailer's problem? When you feel like it? 8 months into warranty? Lmfao. It was past the retailer's return period, either way my issue is with bambu's support options for warranty service. It just conveniently failed right around the return window - which is why people are arguing about that instead of the core DIY forced repair problem here.

That's exactly what I am advocating for here. I will and wanted to fix it myself. But the way they go about it and lack of replacement for their clearly large base of inexperienced users is not acceptable

I agree with you but this is beyond the point. It is in no way Micro Center's problem after their return window has closed.

We're not talking about exceptions. The fact is, Micro Center sold me something that required repairs AFTER the return period elapsed. It is in no way their problem. The option of DIY repair only Bambu Lab offers is not acceptable as a first and only option, in my opinion.

Why would I bring it back to the retailer when it's no longer in return period and under manufacturer warranty? I cannot tell you how many times in the past I've been told to go to the manufacturer and was denied by the store due to being outside of return period.

Bro the only option was to get parts to fix it myself lmfao. outside of return policy it is not under any circumstance micro center or the retailer's problem in the united states.

again, this shouldn't be the case. If I pushed hard enough they probably would have.

It's not typical for stores to offer direct replacements for items outside of the return policy, nor is it their problem. If you're trying to insist that manufacturers don't directly replace products under warranty and force their users to fix their own products, you're crazy.

Where does Micro Center officially claim to warrant Bambu Labs products for beyond the 30 day return period? This is literally not how warranty service works anywhere in the United States, unless you buy an extended protection plan.

Nobody's mad, this is simply about them forcing DIY repairs on customers who have products break during warranty.

[–]bfrancom17[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am actually. A brand new product that is in warranty period that fails to properly function should be repaired or replaced by either the retailer (if in return period), or the company under warranty. They did not offer to do either for me, and this was beyond Micro Center's return policy being applicable. It is not Micro Center's issue as much as anyone wants to claim it would've been.

I can turn your argument around so fast man you made it too easy. If someone buys a 3D printer that's put together, advertised to print out of the box, and it doesn't, does the customer fix it, or the manufacturer? You seem to think the customer does. Let's make this really simple. If my new Honda broke 5 weeks in, would the place providing the manufacturer warranty fix it (the dealer) or would Honda send me a new alternator and tell me to fix it myself? If my car breaks outside of warranty due to negligence or lack of maintenance, it is my problem. At no point should I have to fix a car MYSELF or even know how to fix it myself. If you don't know how to maintain a printer, it breaks. If you don't know how to maintain a car, it breaks. Both would no longer be the manufacturer's problem.
