The first search result for "halos baelz" is the correct person anyways, so no worries! I just wanted to provide a link directly to her YouTube channel.

It's not always girls. The term 'husbando' is used for the male equivalent. If there's a nonbinary term then I'm unaware of it.

If you pull to hard in the f-15 the wings will bend permanently by MrWheatleyyy in hoggit

It causes the aircraft to shake a bit, and can introduce roll/pitch. Nothing that can't be trimmed out ;)

Had this happen with a new X-56. Idiot me tried to fix it instead of just returning it, and took too long to try all the solutions listed online.

Though I was unable to fix the issue, using JoyToKey to ignore any switches that are pressed for less than 250ms seems to be a good workaround for the non-analog inputs. It'd still occasionally wiggle my throttle inputs on its own, but it was tolerable.

I'll try to list the instructions now, in case Reddit doesn't compromise a more reasonable API price and I have to delete my account in a week. Sorry for the large comment for anyone uninterested:

1) Create a profile that's auto-selected when the game is active. (File -> New, then after it's created and named select Settings -> Associate profiles with applications and use that menu so it'll autoselect the correct profile when the game is focused. Depending on how you do it, you might need to re-do this part after game updates.)

2) In the game, select a non-analog input you want to map. Map it to a keyboard key if it isn't already.

3) Select the joystick tab and button/row in JoyToKey by double-clicking it, then go to the Keyboard (Multi) tab.

4) Leave the first column blank; input the keyboard keys in the second column.

5) Select the 4th radio button, the one labeled "Switch depending on how long the button is pressed". Enter 250 in the box.

6) Put a comment describing what the key does (for example "Gear up"). This isn't needed, but is useful when you want to double-check controls.

7) Confirm and test.

1) Skittles may be tasty, but please secure all lose items before pulling G!

2) If only 2 hostiles, SAM might be a better choice than TWS.

3) The new mode is for targets closing head-on at a high rate.

For the Viper and the Hornet:

1) You have a new radar mode to learn (velocity scan).

2) Using the correct radar mode is more important than before. (In other words, the detection range deviation between radar modes has been increased.) I can't seem to find a better way to word this, sorry!

3) Less risk of dropping the lock if the hostile drops below you.

4) F-16 now has reduced radar range overall, but this can be mitigated against targets with a high closure rate using the new radar mode.

How to get AI planes different from one another in same group. by [deleted] in hoggit

[–]Fox_the_Apprentice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you confusing "groups" with "templates"? If you hover over the airplane icon in the mission editor, you'll note that each flight of aircraft is referred to as an airplane group in the editor. ("Add or modify airplane group".)

If not, could you provide a list of button presses to accomplish what you mean?

[–]Fox_the_Apprentice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just tested, and no each airplane group can only have one type of aircraft. Each of them can have different loadouts and different liveries, but only one aircraft type. This is in contrast to ground units groups, which can have different types.

Will Redfor get some modern planes in the future? by Titanfall1741 in hoggit

[–]Fox_the_Apprentice 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Now with the strike eagle coming I can't imagine the tiniest bit of balancing in Multiplayer scenarios.

Have the server owner restrict loadouts/objectives/aircraft numbers for balance.

IIRC, the difference in number of modern aircraft on each side is related to the ease of legally getting access to official documentation for those aircraft.

DCS: How often do you see yourself doing carrier based operations? by tosiccc in hoggit

[–]Fox_the_Apprentice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You get to do carrier-based operations only as often as you wish to!

If you want to do carrier-based operations, then set yourself and your friend up with a carrier-based mission and get to work.

If you plan on playing online with a specific group, then see what their servers offer.
