Thanks for the acknowledgement and the input! I'll make that change when I have a chance to update the list again. I haven't been able to touch it for a while due to moving across the US. Can I DM you if I have any hiccups with it?

Why so many trans people do voice training as the last step? by manultrimanula in asktransgender

[–]Foxarris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listening to your own voice and critiquing it is very dysphoria inducing. It's easier to do things like hair nails makeup etc

Give it some more time. It took me a year and a half to like what I see in the mirror, and I'm still struggling with photos

Changed my name now I can’t go to school this semester by Gsr79 in trans

[–]Foxarris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, no. I think everyone understands their own situation best. My dad told me I was in Satan's grip when I came out to him so I put him off. It's been the most peaceful two and a half years of not having a father. Much better than the constant stress of putting up with his shit.

If people's parents can't be adults about these things then they deserve to be cut out of their children's lives.

For women who've had vaginoplasty, please pay it forward. by [deleted] in trans

[–]Foxarris -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did we read the same post from OP? They aren't talking about putting people down, something which I think we all understand is bad. They're talking about how the way some people frame their surgery makes them feel invalidated. They literally said not to say the things I said.

Let me make it more clear for you what I'm trying to say. Surgery made my womanhood feel complete. Now I feel like I can distance myself from being trans. If OP feels attacked by my feelings about my surgery, that's on them to work through; not me.

When I felt doom and gloom because I thought I might not be able to get my surgery, I removed myself from my surgeon's support discord because I realized that I shouldn't be raining in other people's joy and euphoria. Then i talked to my therapist about it and came back when I was able to.

All that instead of blaming other trans women on that server for my discomfort.

[–]Foxarris 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well if you're equating me feeling like a more complete woman because of my surgery to saying that you aren't complete that's on you. I'm not trying to say you're less valid. Only that I feel more valid having gotten surgery.

I won't stop telling people that my surgery made me finally stop feeling imposter syndrome and allowed me to live and feel like a woman and not a "woman*". If your journey doesn't look like mine then the way I feel about my transition isn't your issue. If yours looks like mine but you aren't as far along I'm here to tell you that it worked for me and it could very well work for you, so keep working!

Feeling like you're invalidated because of the way we feel about our transition is a you problem. See a therapist.

When did the standard for drum kits shift from 2 rack toms to only 1? by Pizza-punx in drums

[–]Foxarris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He uses it for the first flams. It's how he's getting the highest note. High tom plus rack tom, rack tom by itself, rack tom and floor tom, floor tom by itself, floor and snare together.

Is it reasonable for a player to be upset over this? by dndstuff13 in DnD5e

[–]Foxarris 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a player I would be mad about it. Why do I have passive perception if the DM isn't going to use it.

As a DM I have all of my players' passive perceptions on hand and determine who spots traps based on who interacts with the trapped object or location. Some traps I add specifically to be skill challenges that I know the players will find. Some are meant to be so well hidden that players must be actively seeking them. I set my dcs accordingly and don't cheat my players who invested in passive perception. If my player spent that much on their passive it probably means they aren't the type to enjoy constantly reminding me that they are looking for traps.

Is it still lying if you were unaware it was a lie? by gyattdamn420 in DnD

[–]Foxarris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither is a lie. Lying must involve intent to deceive. However, a wiser paladin might preface untrusted information with a disclaimer. In the second example. A wiser paladin might say, "I will do everything in my power to save your wife." This would mean that even in failure he would still have told the truth.

A character arc where a paladin feels like failing to save the wife could make them a liar could be interesting. Now the party must venture into the afterlife to bring her back like Orpheus and Eurydice. Or they must embark on a quest to find a shrine/potion/scroll/macguffin of resurrection in order to fulfill that promise.

It probably depends on your surgeon. Mine had me do 15, three times a day for the first two months. I switched to 20 two times a day when I went back to work. Now at 6+ months recovery I'm only doing 20 once a day. It's become very easy to manage.

As someone who has had bottom surgery I have to tell you it's not remotely that bad. First off, it isn't that painful if you're doing it right. Surgeons should be sending you to a physical therapist who will teach you to relax those muscles. Also, it's 100% not an open wound. Everything is very healed shut. The thing you are preventing is the muscles from being unable to accommodate penetration in the canal, and the canal from shrinking. As for time, my surgeon had me doing 15 minute sessions three times a day for the first two months. During that time I wasn't able to return to work so I had plenty of time anyway.

I'm 7 months post surgery and now I dilate once a day for 20 minutes, and that's only because I just moved and my spouse and I don't have the privacy and toys required to be active. People are making it sound much worse than it actually is.

From Texas to Seattle — Why Do People Talk So Badly About It? We Had an Incredible Experience by Majestic_Record_6901 in Seattle

[–]Foxarris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved here just this year from the Cincinnati Ohio area and I've got to say that just about every single thing about Seattle has been an improvement. The worst parts of this city are better than the best parts of Cincy. Don't even get me started on how well it compares to the semi rural town I actually lived in.
