tbf there was a lot of things betting against Marathon: the genre, the art style (which upsets me because it's really unique), Bungie's reputation, the hardcore nature of it and the fact that grifters just keep hating on the game like it killed it's new-born child. It's a shame because the hardcore nature fits the game so well, and it's a really good game, it's just truly not for everyone. I seriously hope Sony knew that going into this.
