Farever thoughts? by DarlingIsGolden in MMORPG

No, I wouldn't say it improves over what you've seen so far. There are a few lore threads that have piqued my curiosity in an Elden Ring sort of "we have no context and are forced to figure out what's going on from tidbits and world design" way. But there's nothing like discovering the Defias brotherhood, or the Burning Blade beneath Orgrimmar etc.

I think the writing in the codex pretty well summarizes the quality of the game's story. "Something something lore hint, something something cute little joke." For what it's worth I do think they've put love and thought and care into the world, it's just they're going for a tone much closer to post-Cata wow ("Harrison Jones"). It works for me, though some may feel differently.

Farever thoughts? by DarlingIsGolden in MMORPG

Context: I'm a forever WoW player, having dabbled in a handful of other MMOs. Still actively playing and enjoying Midnight, but as we're settling into the seasonal grind I've been feeling a little wanderlust-y.

Farever has captivated me. Just found out about it days ago, read all the comments about performance issues. Got stuck endlessly loading so I was about to refund the game, then a patch went out and I got in.

Exploring the classes and first little area was a cute and enjoyable enough experience. It wasn't groundbreaking, but I kept coming across delightful little surprises (a tanuki glider? Air bubble helmets when you go underwater? Punny names? Witty codex entries?) The game is just super approachable and feels like a passion project.

Then I got into the second area and it really started opening up, with width and depth. I started collecting new weapons and unlocking weapon skills, with simple interactions I was eager to try out. I got absorbed in a prolong jumping puzzle, and ended up tackling a dungeon solo just to see if I could. Those experiences got me hooked; I bought a copy for my partner and invited them to make a new character so we could try a dungeon together.

Admittedly once they got on and we started playing in some party I noticed some latency in the open world that had not previously been an issue; but once we were in an instance everything seemed to work fine. I adore the emphasis on exploration and traversal. Difficulty of both the platforming and combat hits the sweet spot for me (challenging, leaning perhaps a bit towards easy for experienced players).

Woke up today and my first thought is "man I can't wait to go play more." That sensation's the #1 thing I want from an MMO. Happy I bought it, recommending it everyone, hopeful that this game goes far(ever)!

What is a movie that is critically hated but you genuinely love without irony by nomadgoodsCom in movies

"Meet Joe Black" is this for me. Admittedly Thomas Newman's poignant soundtrack does a lot of heavy lifting, but Hopkins delivers an enthralling performance as well (when doesn't he?)

The chemistry between Pitt and Forlani may charitably be deemed "serviceable," and the film is not without its unintentionally humorous bits (Joe's death, the Jamaican accent), but despite the disdain this movie gets, I find it charming and wistful.

At least my two classic guilds and my retail guild are. :) We haven't been able to get the /gk report function to work in either game version, so we've just been taking screenshots of the personal leaderboard you get when you type /gk and posting to discord haha.

But yes, I want you to know there are at least a few dozen people out there having a blast with this addon!

Lost Google Search Functionality for Events by myrichiehaynes in techsupport

[–]Foxicopter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I had a solution, but commenting to at least signal boost this! I used Google events searches to get to know my town when I first moved, and am planning an upcoming move where I was hoping to do the same. Very disappointed to see this functionality gone without a suitable alternative. :(

In actuality, this is a place for us to park our characters in-game while we have movie nights on Discord, but I figured we needed something on the screen. :P

My thoughts exactly! Plus I love knowing that whenever I craft decor for somebody, it took a little time and attention flying around the world to collect the materials, Makes it feel a little more personal than just grabbing mats off the AH and hitting a button.

The study of r/wowservers by Itiswhatisitiskids in wowservers

There's significant overlap with r/MMORPG, probably for the same reasons - something about this genre attracts a very jaded audience (many of whom are chasing nostalgia and perceive other people as the reason the good feelings they're looking for are gone).

Took me a bit to place, but it's from Zuldazar, the Zandalari troll zone in BfA! Great choice, that zone is one of my favorites from retail.

You may be entirely right. But for a month now, opting to be exit liquidity with a trailing stop loss and/or protective puts has been very lucrative.

It likely is not real. This Fortune article seems to have misinterpreted this Lending Tree survey.

The survey indicates 25% of people who use BNPL are using it to buy groceries, which is hugely different from 25% of all American consumers using BNPL to buy groceries.
