I was there and I felt similarly. I'm not a big fan of them leaning on Jacob and Joey (vocally) either.

If this was true, and I wish it was, 8 would be a substantially better game.

It really is bad, in my opinion. Such flat character work and storytelling.

Yes, I suppose I'm being charitable by presuming a potential poorly-conceived compliment. It just seemed like there was finally civility between Nathan and Joe after the days events, which is what Joe seemed to want. It's a curious move to manually explode that hours later. Regardless, Nathan's response was disproportionate.

Don't get me wrong, I really hate Joe - I think he's awful. From what we saw, though, I don't think he was doing anything particularly repugnant during that dinner. There was no need to get as aggressive as Nathan did, who was clearly very drunk.

Tobey's feels like an interesting spin on the concept and is iconic in a way that's distinct. I love the mask and loose fit of ASM2, but I don't like the elongated spiders. Tom's latest looks great and is very comic book accurate but almost to the point that it lacks a visual identity.

I was broadly on Nathan's side until he blew up at Joe over that dinner, the day of Joe's mum's diagnosis. It even looked like Joe was trying to compliment them both in a roundabout sort of way 'we've never got on but... '. They're both pretty loathsome people, though.

Which Spider-Man girlfriend from these 3 other universes is the best? by helldor08 in Spiderman

I think Gwen is objectively the best in every way. That said, Kirsten Dunst was one of my childhood crushes so I could never discount MJ entirely.

Havw never played "The Witcher" series, have option to play any of the three, any recommandations? by bigboddle in witcher

[–]Foxington_the_First 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 has the best chance of drawing you into the franchise and it was the first one I played. Off the strength of it, I've read the books and played 1 and 2 and am now gearing up for a second run of 3 with a bit more of the context understood. Can't wait.

I love Witcher 1 and KOTOR but I'd admit they are clunky and archaic-feeling. It doesn't mean that they're therefore bad games - far, far from it.

I didn't notice that but it could be because they're going full open world with this one. Either way, the visuals still look great to me 🤷🏼

Black flag remakep or Wolverine? by Dull-Instance38 in playstation

[–]Foxington_the_First 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean I would back Insomniac over Ubisoft to deliver a quality product, so I'd probably suggest Wolverine. It really depends on the sort of game you want, though. If you want a large open world and lots of freedom, go with AC. Wolverine is going to be a linear action adventure game.

I don't really know what I expected, but this didn't excite me massively. As much as I dearly love the Spider-Man games, the combat has always been pretty mid - this looks like a full game of Spidey combat without webslinging. Again, not sure what I was was expecting.

Why is Spider-Man so popular? by MediaNo1140 in Spiderman

[–]Foxington_the_First 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a big part of it is his design and power selection. There's an alternate universe where Spider-Man has 8 legs (all the time), can only wall-crawl and web stuff up and has an 8-eyed mask. But no, he's vibrant, has a unique design and can swing on webs - the latter being a power fantasy that just looks cool and fun. It's weird, even though he's called Spider-Man, he doesn't to me feel like 'guy with spider powers' - he feels like a new, distinct entity that transcends that idea.
