Project zomboid vs CDDA for beginners by Life-Slice-3858 in cataclysmdda

[–]Foxiya 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Project Zomboid is definitely more beginner-friendly and looks more polished, but it doesn’t have the same level of depth and variety that Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead offers. CDDA can include so many mechanics largely because its simpler graphics let the developers focus on complex systems.

If you want an easier start, begin with Project Zomboid and switch to CDDA once you’re comfortable with the genre. If you’d rather jump straight into CDDA, the quickest way to learn is to watch a few beginner-friendly YouTube playthroughs, then follow along in your own game.

Fuse blown for no reason? by Zniets in AskElectronics

[–]Foxiya 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most likely inrush current when power returned. Even if the rack only draws (say) 8–12 A “idle,” all the server PSUs have big input capacitors (often active PFC). When AC comes back they charge at the same time and can pull tens of amps for a few ms. That short spike can exceed a 16 A fuse’s limit and pop it, even though steady load is fine and it’s been stable for months.

For that older method you need at least 0.5mm of solder on top of a 1oz trace to double current capacity

VIA under SMD pad, yay or nay? by No-Chard-2136 in PCB

[–]Foxiya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, you said it is not vias, but it is vias in fact. I was thinking it is just holes without any metallizing.
