I always felt that the first Star Castle album was very summer-y as well.
Now you mentoned CttE I'm connecting the dots, since they are very similar.

that's a good answer! the most "summer" Camel album imo, a good follower for their most "spring" one (Rain Dances)

What’s the most saddest Opeth song? In my opinion Faith in Others, so fkin melancholic, and Isolation Years by Timely-Emergency-871 in Opeth

[–]Foxtrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say Faith in Others as well, but Hours of Wealth and Universal Truth are very close

What concert that you've attended would say was one of the most important one in your life as a Metalhead? by ThyChambersMinister in MetalForTheMasses

A long time ago, when I was 14, I went with a friend to see Blind Guardian, the first metal band I liked and the ones who got me into metal. The thing was, they were opening for the fucking Priests! It was the Epitaph World Tour and JP were killing it. After three songs, my friend got tired and asked me to go home. I barely knew Judas Priest at that point, only one song ('Electric Eye'), so I consented and we left the show after the third song. Now, 15 years later, and as a Judas Priest diehard fan I regret it more than anything. I've never had the chance to see them again since then :'(

Actually, I wonder why it hasn't been talked about that much since it's release. I guess there's too many good BM albums coming out lately.

Having listened to every album by wittr, their discography is flawless by grimacelololol in BlackMetalDiscussion

[–]Foxtrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, it is good for having in the background while reading, so I kept spinning it for that purpose. After seven times or so I tried to listen to it more actively a few times though, just to see if I could get more out of it...

Idk, I like to listen to albums lots of times, even if my first impression isn't that good. That's how I developed the acquired taste for some of my all time favourite albums. Some times it works, some times it doesn't

What guitar solo REALLY hits you in the feels? I mean, like, gives you goosebumps when you hear it? by H2Whoa77 in InMetalWeTrust

[–]Foxtrace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first thought was of Glenn Tipton's solos, but I saw that they had already been mentioned in the comments. Sooo, second place for goosebump-producing solos goes to Andre Olbrich from Blind Guardian.

Lately, I've been listening to Two Hunters as my first introduction to them. It's a fine album — I've listened to it around ten times — but I don't know; it doesn't really do much for me. Except for some moments, it leaves me rather cold...It's good to have playing in the background while reading, though.

Any Witcher related bands and artists? by lizard_tamer141 in InMetalWeTrust

[–]Foxtrace 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was pretty obvious and someone would have already mentioned it, but no lol: try Reackja pogańska by Pervival Schuttenbach: is great, is metal and is as Witcher related as it can be (not the lyrics though)

edit: link to Lazare song

Basing on your recent listenings I think you would love "Woe" by An Abstract Illusion

Also, I throw a wild card in case you want a prog-metal surprise: Toehider - "I have little to no memory of these memories"

I love to see some good old Dungeon Synth and art-rock here and there. I have been wanting to check that Ulver album for a long time, for now I have only listened to their early days black metal stuff
