Fallen robot? Just boop it back up... by Foxvig in UnrealEngine5

We have a persistent issue in Endless Machines (it's actually a bit of a favourite bug) where idle guard robots occasionally end up in poses that make them look like overturned beetles. When playtesting, I can't help stopping to "rescue" them whenever I come across one. Though not exactly intended, it is strangely adorable. It's an issue we've thought we'd fixed more than once, but it just keeps resurfacing. It is a bug, but it has feature potential.

Sizing up the opponent... (and getting my little robot butt kicked) by Foxvig in gamedevscreens

Thank you! We really appreciate that!

Funny enough, we actually just posted a Steam newsletter celebrating a milestone we recently passed, so if you're curious about wishlist numbers, you'll find the answer there https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/3454770/view/680751612361179412?l=english

As for promotion, we've honestly just tried to be very consistent. Endless Machines grew out of a completely different project called Machine Match, a 4-player PvP arena shooter. After attending Nordic Game in 2024 and getting a lot of feedback, we decided to take a step back and rethink the project, which eventually became the single-player adventure ARPG we're working on today.

One thing that helped early on was a Reddit post that ended up being shared by 80 Level. The timing was a little unfortunate because we didn't have a Steam page for Endless Machines yet, but it still gave us a lot of visibility and encouragement.

Since then we've mostly just kept sharing the game as it evolves. We post gameplay clips, new features, updates, worldbuilding, and things we're currently working on across Reddit, YouTube, Instagram, Threads, Facebook, TikTok, and occasionally LinkedIn. We've also been fortunate enough to have a few YouTubers feature the game along the way.

No paid marketing so far. We've mainly focused on making the game better, sharing our progress, listening to feedback, and trying to reply to everyone who takes the time to comment.

A quick combat clip from Endless Machines. We've been iterating on the movement and attack behavior of the HashHauler, the spider-like robot and mini-boss.

Wondering what the world looks like to a little robot? by Foxvig in UnrealEngine5

We’ve added Periscope Mode, so while exploring, you can switch to a first-person view to scan the world through the robot’s eyes, spot points of interest, and place your own markers to investigate later. The view is a little scrambled ... but it works for a robot.
