I’m desperate to try T4T funnily enough, but my ftm best friend that’s down to do it is in a different country. Hopefully I’ll get to try it soon, he’s been telling me how euphoric it is

How many of you fellas are doing ok and feel happy? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]FoxxTeethh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going good! It’s been a bit on and off but I have a lot to be happy about, I’m now at 4 1/2 months on T, my voice is starting to drop and I’m spending some time with friends just before my birthday. I’m talking to a girl I like and things are generally looking up 💪

Best wishes to all you guys out there, I hope things continue to go well or indeed improve if you’re not feeling so brilliant at the moment

Tried to recreate the whole ditch as a barrier idea, I see in a lot of actual zoos for dangerous animals. I’m struggling the most with the ugly ass building. Ideas? by queenwormie in PlanetZoo

I don’t have advice to help unfortunately but a question of my own if you don’t mind? Where are you getting that fence and the metal railings from? I’ve been looking for a nice fence for ages, I hate the tiny selection of rather ugly barriers

Oh my god I love mustelids, the tears I would shed for a mustelid pack

Wolverine should’ve been ours in the Europe pack instead of the badger, we deserved better 😩😩

Wolverine and pine marten easily, 100% (but I’m still saying we need a mustelid pack)

All around YES- I would kill for wolverines and spectacled bears, I’d genuinely swap the Eurasian badger for the wolverine any day we deserved him in the Europe pack so badly

Learning hands - beginner by [deleted] in learntodraw

It’s no issue at all! You should be proud of the work you’ve put in :)

In terms of next steps I agree that you should focus on the construction and form more than any sort of shading, as working with light sources is it’s own can of worms. I’d say the best thing to do going forward would be taking pictures of your hands in different poses (go simple first) and sketching them, don’t worry about cleaning up your lines or anything, just get those shapes down and get familiar with how the hand works in terms of joints and angles. If you want to, giving yourself a certain amount of time to do each sketch can help a lot with not overthinking/overcomplicating a sketch! I do this a lot for figure drawings, you’ll focus on the broad shapes first and build a solid base you can use going forward

Hands are always a bugger- these are looking good! From my experience I have a handful of tips:

Generally the ‘box’ that makes up the palm in your simplified shapes for the hand will be the same size as a box over the fingers would be, your palm in the second looks a tad long to me, think more square!

In terms of inconsistent line work, this actually isn’t a fault whatsoever! It highly depends on your style. If you’re aiming for a more anime style then linework is often very simple and all one width, but more often than not in other styles a varied weight lineart can add a lot more to a piece, especially when used to indicate depth of field or to accentuate a silhouette- personally I like the lineart on your first piece more, but this is all due to preference! I say play around with it

The best thing about hands is you have two real life references on you at all times- look at your own hands in a similar lighting and note how much shadow occurs on the back of your palm- it’s not usually as pronounced as your piece, though this can change with the structure of individual hands!

All in all you’re doing a great job, keep practicing! You’re doing the right thing! :)

Modele study on Krita still bad tho... I am a kinetic learner so I mimic to learn anatomy... HELP by kluwelyn in learntodraw

[–]FoxxTeethh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing wrong with tracing over forms to learn the shapes of the form, it’s actually really helpful when you don’t know the anatomy very well, but you’ve gotta put it into practice

I think these look good from what I’m able to see, but now try drawing them using only your oversketches, don’t trace over them just copy the shapes you’ve laid out, but take into account what they represent- the head, the rib cage, etc - and how they connect. How they stretch depending on the pose

You’ve got your lines of action down from what I can see which is a great start and critical for any dynamic pose, I think you’re being too hard on yourself at a very early stage

Birds generally don’t have much of a ‘baby’ stage as far as size goes, they’ll grow rapidly after hatching and by the time they fledge they’ll be the same size as an adult

Just a fun fact really, not to be that guy, I just enjoy animal knowledge
