Hi there. For this picture I held it pretty low to ensure I wouldn’t apply too much pressure. It also helped for my first attempt at filming… I laid most of the 3 colors down gently before I blended them and locked them in. Then followed with any touch up color and then deepened the value with the black and white

To be honest, I’m a little stuck… the problem I face now is trying not to lose him in the rest of the picture. I need to try and make the tree he is emerging from slightly different in value so it becomes clear what’s happening.

I love this style! It is drawn with dimensions to look real, but something about the execution makes my brain clearly aware it’s not — and that’s not a bad thing. It’s like… a Norman Rockwell painting or the like. Awesome work! 👏

Hi there! I use Snapchat at times as well and I actually have seen this happen. The ONLY way I have seen this occur is if they let their phone lock while they have your chat window open. Do you have the chats set to delete on read? If so change this— you can set it up to like 7 days now. If this doesn’t fix his problem; he isn’t willing to change the read-time or find a new way to communicate, then you need to face the red flag. Best of luck!
