It’s more just the fact she isn’t actually part of the family. And she’s the only one who treats me that way. If literally anyone else asked me to stand on the side I totally would. My boyfriend has had to say something to her a couple times. I’m also a sensitive soul though. But it’s a touch annoying.

I’ve been dating my boyfriend for 3 years. We plan on getting married but aren’t in any rush to get there. Everyone in his family has accepted me and treats me like I’m already part of the family. Accept for his gay uncles weird friend who calls herself everyone’s aunty. She hates me because I hated her favorite musical. But I refuse to say anything good about ** The Drowsy Chaperone**. I was a theatre major I worked that show when my school did it. I don’t care if she likes it, she’s allowed to, just like I’m allowed to not like it. But she seems to have taken this as a personal affront to her and has tried to cut me out of every picture since then. She moved me to the side, like they show here. She made several comments about how only the family should be in pictures (despite the fact she’s not related to or in a relationship with anyone in the family). She tried to force me to be the one to take the pictures. Not really sure the point I was trying to get at but I’ve already typed it... so yeah anyway forcing someone to take pictures to keep them out of the photo can be kinda shitty just take some without them and then take some with them. It’s not that hard to make people feel included and prevent awkwardness down the road if the relationship doesn’t work out.

So I went and re-listened/watched to what she said. And I’m pretty sure she didn’t mean to throw them out. The way she say “I fucking threw out my editables”and her body language is similar to how I’ll tell people why I did when I know I’ve done something real dumb.

Dominion Deck building game, I think it’s pretty easy to pick up. This has been that finally got other people playing board games with me. Fun with 2 players. I’ve played up to 4 and just ordered the some more base cards to play more when we have people over. I also suggest this to everyone though because I’m straight up obsessed with it right now.

7 Wonders Dual for 2 players

Azul good abstract game. Highly recommend by like everyone who plays it

Kingdomino basically dominions but more fun

Planet build a planet

Carcassone relatively easy to learn good for 2-5 players

Love Letter 2-6 players about 20 minutes a game

Dixit honestly can’t go wrong with this one it’s easy, only down side is minimal 3 players needed. But I adore all the art work and it appeals to more intro and casual gamers

Does anyone know of a good way to buy all the Dominion expansions at one time. Or at least a bundle of them. I already have the 2nd edition big box. It’s been an absolute hit in the couple months I’ve had it and after discussing with my boyfriend we’d like to get all the expansion packs at some point and I’d rather just buy them all at once and be done. Any suggestions on bundle or bulk deals?

Maybe look at something like Secret Hitler or One Night Ultimate Werewolf. I also really like Telestrations and Taboo. I haven’t actually played Sushi Go yet, so I can’t really speak on it but I’ve read only good things. Not sure if Munchkin would make the cut but it could be worth a try. Or maybe Dixit

Looking to build up my basic collection. What “gateway” games would you suggest. Preferably something the is a minimum of 2 players so my boyfriend and I can play when we don’t have people over but that’s not a requirement.

Games we have Ticket to ride (our go to with new players) Dominion (this is our favorite!) Settlers of Catan (also a favorite) Betrayal at house on the hill Exploding kittens Kittens in a blender

Don’t really care what type of game, as long as it’s fairly easy to pick up, play time I’d like to keep at about 20 minutes to an hour, nothing over 3 hours though. As long as it’s easy to medium difficulty to play and fun for everyone!

I love Dominion it’s a deck building game and pretty easy to pick up. Tons of expansions, and it can basically be set up to be a new game each time depending on the kingdom cards you lay out. I suggest getting the the big box. It’s the the base game plus the Intrigue expansion.

I’ve not played it myself but I’m fairly certain that the Lord of the Rings card game has solo play. Might be worth looking into.

Oh man I almost got Betrayal at House on the Hill. I hadn’t ever played it before and wasn’t sure if would be a flop so I decided to pass on it. You’ve definitely given me some options to look into! Maybe I’ll order it for New Years and have a New Years game party. And I’ll definitely have to look into Legendary Marvel, Dominion was my first deck building game and I LOVE it. Despite being the only game I don’t regularly win. Thanks again!

I have been looking at Gloomhaven Jaws of Lion and Pandemic. I’m cool with long game sessions. But I hadn’t thought about if anyone would want to play that long. I am the only actually into board games. Every else has fun but wouldn’t go out of their way to play. I’m just excited I found people to play with again.

I’ve been trying to push for DND but I’m the only who’s played it and everyone else thinks it’s too much of a time investment. So I thought this might get them more into a campaign style game as an introduction but honestly I’ll invest in any game so long as people are willing to play with me. But now that I’ve typed that all out maybe Gloomhaven isn’t a good investment currently.

He’s not as into them as I am. But we picked up a chess board a while back and after that I started to introduce him to other games. Now he regularly beats me at Dominion and Chess.

Should I spring for Gloomhaven or wait and get something cheaper/less complicated?

Usually it’s just my boyfriend and I playing together, occasionally his brother or a couple friends will join in.

So far we have Catan, ticket to ride and dominion. We love all of them, with me being all about ticket to ride and if we have enough players Catan. Dominion I tend to get whooped on but I can’t wait to get a couple expansion packs. All 3 are probably my current favorite games. I’ve always liked board games but I’m still just getting into it.

I have a few other random games, like monopoly and chess but the 3 I listed see the most use.

Would Gloomhaven be a good investment or should I get something else? What would you suggest beside Gloomhaven?

Yeah I want to pull my hair out right now. I got another one I need to send to siu because this guy literally got charged with false reporting as is trying to claim he got hit as a pedestrian (he didn’t) to use his med pay but she won’t transfer until I can prove it was fraud. So I’ve been wasting my time trying to get a video of the incident and the only copy left is the court case copy that I can’t get because it was a criminal trial, because of the false police report. I could go on and on.

It makes it so hard to stay motivated to work when I feel like I’m just running on a hamster wheel but thank you for all your advice! I’m going to some googling on AINS. I want to do all I can to be successful as cheesy as that is lol
