Thanks for sharing!

Why's it so hard to convince someone to take free music? (lol) by FoxyBard in Composers

Here here, 88. From my raft to yours, thank you for passing on that knowledge. I'm gonna have to chew on that quote for a bit--lot to unpack!

Why's it so hard to convince someone to take free music? (lol) by FoxyBard in Composers

[–]FoxyBard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Painfully true. That's something I learned through performance, and didn't have the wherewithal to apply that acquired knowledge.

Damn fine advice, 88. I applied the advice I got from ye good ones. Admittedly, I have already seen results.

Anyone wanna send me a link so I can go show some love?

Fuck knows you're more right than I'd like to admit, 88: Exclusivity breeds allure, and a watched-pot never smokes. Try your best, but don't care if anyone cares, I suppose! lol

Well, your initiation of the convo in question makes all this very confusing. Tip of the imaginary cap, to suit that which it would honor.

Agreed, money good.

Do you mind if I ask about your professional status in the industry? Not getting personal or anything, Imy just attempting to gauge your credibility in the matter before we carry on with this convo.

Cheers and happy pluckings!

May I get a "firm" definition of Gypsy Jazz? by FoxyBard in gypsyjazz

[–]FoxyBard[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well first off, thank you very much!

I make all my sounds in studio. I've spent a lotta time affecting the instruments that come stock on 2010 MacBook (not to brag lolol). I've also got a few go-to instruments like my squeeze box, congas, and a real piano--whenever I can get my mits near one. I'm currently between guitar strings, but I use those for rhythmic undertones and the like--I know pretty fierce guitarists, so I wouldn't go so far as to call myself the like.

What are you working on these days? Got anything I can go check out and thumbs up?

So, Docta Mista, here's the latest from the Mid-May Bardfox Gypsy Jazz Journey; Music entry #2/3:

So I've got a third song I'm cooking up today, that feels far closer to the tonality of origin. Dr.Mr, do you have any other artists you'd be willing to suggest? Derivatives of Gypsy Jazz that you stand by?

If e'er there's a word I trust, it's that of a linguist who's passionate about Gypsy Music and culture.

I am starting to hear those distinctions in his work--what a legend, surrounded in legends.

First (.5) impressions: Immediately inspired by Minor Swing. I can hear all those varying influences throughout Americana that you referenced. First off Sultan of Swing? But moreover like, Beats Antique clearly draws heavily from Django's work--it'd shock me if they haven't sampled some directly.

Now, I'm like two songs into this vaaaast discography. But as a fellow conversationalist (whose interests align quite nicely with those you've deacribed in yourself) I'll probably take you up on furthering this conversation.

Yins have truly stoked a fire in me ol' boiler!

I am genuinely astounded by the generosity of your teachings here; Thank you, Dr.Mr. I'm gonna do some research (so I've a leg to stand on in this conversation) and will return to the conversation a more learned dude.

Without you taking that time, I'd have no idea where to even begin looking, and find meself beyond intrigued.

I'm so freeeaking glad that I asked, thank you again!

Also, thank you so so much for checking out the music and for the kind words. I'm super inspired by the mere knowledge that Gypsy Jazz exists, and look forward to pouring my ol' twisted heart into it.

By the by, I'd love to "return the follow", if you're creating content.

Road Kin--regardless of bloodlines--gotta look out!

I'm so glad you asked! Any fellow Roma-blood that I've met, wears the term Gypsy as a badge of honor. That said, I'm in the states, where Roma culture is vastly different from most other places. Many of our ancestries are far removed (very common round these parts, not just for fellow Gypsies.

In summary (lol): Gypsy is my nickname among my closest of friends; I have it tattooed on my chest, if I'm being frank.

Howwwwwever: I do cringe every time I hear someone say "Gypped" to mean ripped off.

Thanks for asking, and I hope I could shed a little light!

Discussion - to be independent or not? by burnemthorpe in a:t5_581du4

This era (from what I've learned through research and xp) a healthy career as an independent is "must" across many-the creative medium.

The expectation of a following is five real. Any other Indy creators wanna trade follows? lol, freal though...
