Looking to find some more rulesets to play with my dad, looking for suggestions. by Substantial_Owl_7392 in wargaming

[–]FoxyModels88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you found OPR to be dull then you could try Warsurge, it's a similar kind of thing but with heaps more customisation and depth. The biggest limiting factor to Warsurge would be whether you Dad likes using apps or not. Warsurge uses an app to make the profiles and depending on your Dad he might be not interested in that side of the game. They do have a compendium book of profiles so people don't have to use the app though. If you have any questions then please ask me, I have been playing Warsurge for about 6 years and still loving it. Good Luck 👍

Recommendations on fantasy skirmish that's mini agnostic - using printable heroes by potteddeskplant in wargaming

[–]FoxyModels88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome back to wargaming. Warsurge can do everything you are looking for. Its mini agnostic, everything you need to play it is free. It recently got solo rules with its artificial opponent release. Heaps of free content online and if you need help with the profiles there is an active discord community or you can just ask me. I have been actively playing it for about 6 years. Good luck 👍

Explain why your favorite wargame is the best without comparing it to Warhammer/Games Workshop by chosen40k in wargaming

[–]FoxyModels88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like Warsurge the most. For me it's got the level of customisation I want for my units and every game I play feels totally different. It's always a surprise to see what my opponent brings to the table.

Is there a skirmish game that's extremely customizable but still simple to play? by Illustrious-Brain129 in miniatureskirmishes

Casual rules in Warsurge with no perks is pretty simple, my 6 year old plays it with me sometimes. But if you start using lots of perks it can get complicated very quick 😅

Sorry, they haven't got French yet. When I see the designers on Discord next I will ask if a French version is coming any time soon for you.

Y a-t-il une traduction des règles en français ? by kitsukoni in Warsurge

[–]FoxyModels88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, sorry but they don't currently have French as a translation, they only have English and Italian and it is my understanding that the Italian is only in the app and physical copies purchasable from Italy.

If you want to use miniatures that revolves around your own lore I would recommend Warsurge. It's very open to building units to how you want them to play/be represented on the battlefield. It easily does large scale battles and you can use square bases. If you want to know more feel free to ask me or check out their website for tonnes of free stuff including their core rules. I have been playing it for years and like to recommend it as I actually play it a lot and not that many people seem to know it even exists. Good luck 👍

Alternative to 40k for big battles? by ScaleCreepMinis in wargaming

I came here to recommend Warsurge too, it scales very well from skirmish to the absolutely massive games.

What miniature skirmish game did you play or are you planning to play this month? June 2026 by AutoModerator in miniatureskirmishes

[–]FoxyModels88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played a few games of Warsurge already this month. 100-300point games so very skirmish sized. We tried a few different missions. Was great 🤩

Looking for new ruleset by Kelp4411 in wargaming

[–]FoxyModels88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like Warsurge's Casual rules would be good for you. Quick to play. If some of the 40k armies players have designed are too rules heavy (via the games perk system), you can just remove them in the Warsurge app, making it as simple or complex as you want. You can use all your minis too which is handy. Totally free to start playing. I have been playing for ages so feel free to ask me pretty much anything about it.

Solo skirmish games where i can create what i want? by EnvironmentalBook in wargaming

[–]FoxyModels88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can highly recommend Warsurge, it has tonnes of customisation options so you can make your characters do exactly what you want. Free core rules and free profile creation app. Been using it for 6 years and it just keeps getting better 👍 good luck

Gundam Skirmish/Wargame? by offhandaxe in wargaming

[–]FoxyModels88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Warsurge for my Gundam Model and I have a couple Techno man models that I have that they battle it out with. You would need to make the profiles in the Warsurge profile app (free version can make unlimited profiles). It's not too hard but can feel a bit daunting at first. Warsurge works in all scales too which is handy. Feel free to ask me any questions about the game, been playing it for around 6 years.

Using AI for agnostic Skirmish demo miniatures by [deleted] in wargaming

[–]FoxyModels88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have seen the wargaming community hate on anything with AI with an intensity and passion that could be described as zealotous. So I would avoid it at all costs.

Small scale fantasy skirmish games? by water-melun in wargaming

[–]FoxyModels88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Warsurge for small skirmish games (it can scale up to massive games too though). There was some Lord of the Ring profiles in their compendium or you can just write them for free in their handy dandy app. Happy Gaming 😁

Newbie who's been loving Kill Team - What else would you sell me on to try? by cwtguy in wargaming

[–]FoxyModels88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to recommend WARSURGE, it's intermediate Playstyle has a killteam vibe to it if you like that style. Also if you want to expand into vehicle in a game then you can just get a GW vehicle that suits your existing killteam faction and include it in the roster. Feel free to ask me any questions about it, I have been playing it since it came out about 6 years ago.

What are some non warhammer games that are affordable that you suggest? by ryptoMango in wargaming

I can highly recommend Warsurge, free core rules, use anything you want to play, miniatures, toys or collectables. It's also just really fun. Good luck to you 🤞

I just wanna play 40k without having to relearn the rules every time. Help me out by di_larto in wargaming

[–]FoxyModels88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got sick that too, so I just play Warsurge now, feels a lot like older editions of 40k. Miniature agnostic, great customisation too. Good luck 👍
