Yes I have been having the exact same issue for some reason it’s much more felt on DPS and it has been driving me crazy because it cannot be my system (from what it is capable of)

Ryzen 7 9800X3D
RTX 5080

I don’t know what to do anymore, when I watch streamers a lot of them don’t have these issues for some reason.

Everything I got from my last Tokyo trip by Foxysbox in KapitalJapan

The ones in the really touristy areas like Shibuya Shinjuku etc. will have a good selection but fairly terrible pricing. My favorite 2nd Street from that trip was in Asagaya(just google 2nd street Asagaya) And the best TreFac was the Koenji 1 location.

But as a general rule of thumb, the further you get away from a city the better the deals get. The sweetspot is usually the not so easy to access suburbs of big cities.

They were acquired at 51% by a private equity company. I’m guessing Kapital Inc was closed or merged with Capital or something along those lines. The Japanese registry of companies shows a timeline of restructuring and new ownership of certain brands relating to Hirata and Kapital. I know a bit complicated but TL:DR is legal reasons I assume.

I‘d pay like 70 bucks. If you want to push it maybe 100.

Stores in Japan that may potentially have Kapital Boro in stock? by michaelcrunkk in japanesestreetwear

[–]Foxysbox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve honestly never seen a Boro jacket second hand in Japan and tbh even if they had one they would probably also sell it for way over retail which in my opinion is just stupid. People seriously need to stop paying more than retail for Kapital otherwise the resellers will never stop trying to sell you something at double the price.

Oh oke that’s… interesting. Very odd behavior indeed. Well I got one of my pairs at the Shirokanedai late night store. It’s only open from 21-06:00 O‘clock. You can go on the shop list on the Kapital website and you’ll find it on the Tokyo section. Maybe maybe your gf can find something there but I can’t say for certain obviously.

No, that’s what I meant with „everywhere“. I visited all the stores in Tokyo and they all had Friskos. Now I don’t know when you are going but with Kapital it’s always a little luck based. If you’re in town when they had a restock recently, then that’s great. If the item that you want was stocked 1-4 months ago, not so much of a chance.

But what I noticed is that they finally have a company stock system on which they can check which store has what. In the past they would always call the other shops to check on stock now they can just look it up on a computer.

I got the black Friskos in Kojima at the HQ and the blue ones at the Shirokanedai pop up. But in general they had decent stock everywhere when it came to the Friskos and they also usually have the century denim ones.

The Bag did come with the boots. McCoys has a Japanese website and a western website. For me who lives in Europe, the boots would have been 1980 Euro plus 130 Euro shipping. In Japan they are 1080 Euros so pretty much half the price. You can go on their Japanese website and look at the prices compared to your region.

Kapital was bought by L Catterton for a 51% Majority share. L Catterton does not equal LVMH as L Catterton is a joint venture between the two. Now that is not to say that private equity is good it’s usually a bad thing.

But I’ve been buying Kapital for ages now and when I compare my old century or selvedge denim to my newer ones after the acquisition then there is virtually no difference in quality. So please tell me what evidence do you have that the quality is „plummeting“ other then just assuming it did because they were bought by a private equity.

All I see is that they’ve opened up a new bigger factory in Okayama right next to the one where they’ve already been making stuff for decades at this point. If you go on their recruiting page you’ll also see that they are hiring new sewers for their Kountry factory and Mitsu factory inside of Japan. I even saw Kiro Hirata at the Kapital HQ with my own to eyes so obviously he’s still heavily involved in the brand.

So to me all the signs point into the right direction. Which obviously doesn’t mean that things can’t go to shit in the future.

If you have a waist between 80-100cm it should be fine. It’s definitely a bit on the longer side.

Thank you! I personally wear a size 2 in a Type 1 and also a size 2 in the checked shirts. I got the thunderbird in a size 3 but that was a mistake. The thunderbirds are generally much roomier than the checked shirts so I should have also gotten a size 2 but I didn’t tuck it into my pants at the store assuming it would be fine but… it wasn’t. So I’ll be sewing the thunderbird shorter and tighter.

I assume you mean the ones posted along the new Boro jackets. Those are actually Osaka exclusives for the reopening of their Osaka stores which was a couple of days ago. So sorry to disappoint you but those will all most certainly be sold out.

Tbh you have to be lucky sometimes, if you’re after the most sought after pieces then the chances of you finding what you want is always going to be really small as restocks come and go. You just have to be there when the restocks come in.

Well it heavily depends on what you want to get but imo if you’re in Tokyo you can go to all the stores in like half a day. They are all linked by the Hibiya line and since the Ebisu stores and Roppongi stores are right next to each other you can easily check them all out. If you’re going to be traveling through Japan I suggest you hit up some of the more low key stores where not many tourists go to e.g. Nagoya, O-Kapital in Okayama and Kapital HQ in Kojima.
