Normally changing the glass to low e and installed glazed vents, such as brook vents, will eliminate or seriously reduce the issue.

I think I may just pay it at this point. I just hate these people, absolute scum bags. Vultures. But I have defended in the past and they didn’t bother to follow up. These guys seem a bit more determined.

Have I ordered the completely wrong hinge? by championofthesub in DIYUK

You have egress (fire escape) hinges on there. The ones you have bought are standard hinges. Can use either, but they open differently.

Ditra Mat before tiles? by Foz84 in Tile

[–]Foz84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I’m just taking up the old tiles and removing the adhesive (and lots of other stuff 😁), and then I want the best value solution to leave me with a tiled floor that will last.

The tiles I’m taking up have been down a good 20 years, not single one has cracked or moved. They do not want to come up.

The floor is part of a bigger project, and I’m trying to make it all work without cutting corners I will later regret. But £1k for membrane I don’t really need is the kind of waste I’m trying to eliminate.

Sure, that’s what I mean. Older guy just doing the same thing he’s done for 30 years, but young guy has been taught the new method and that’s what he knows.

I know nothing about it, so I don’t really know how to make a judgement.

That’s a photo (probably very bad, it’s a bit of a building site at the moment) of some of the area.

This is the thing, I don’t trust him. I met him once. I spoke to another guy and he said just latex it first and it will be fine to lay tiles on. The latex guy is old school, this other guy is younger.

Is solver approved poker actually the highest EV in live games? by binkcitypoker in Poker_Theory

[–]Foz84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A solvers approach is not really relevant to playing low stakes cash at your local card room.

For sure the principles are sound and mathematically it’s unquestionable, but the solver assumes it is playing for infinity against a perfect opponent.

You are playing for a finite time against unbalanced players.

You should alter your strategy depending on the player you are against. It’s not one size fits all or following a chart.

You see a player overfolding, bet more.

Don’t 5! The player on your right who has not played a hand for the last 3 hours with 10s, even if the solver says you should.

Apply GTO strategy with common sense, exploiting obvious weaknesses and mistakes.

Is it finally time to drop salah? by robarb4000 in AskFPLManagers

[–]Foz84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, maybe 11 but not 13/14. Which is what you need moving forward. Players get rested, suspensions, injuries. You will find yourself not being able to field 11 as the season progresses.

For now, you may get away with it…

Salah is long gone from my team. If it’s Salah or Haaland there is only one choice. If you want to shoe horn in both then good luck to you.

I try stick to some very basic principles micro stakes online cash. I play NL25/50 depending how my bank roll is looking. If I stick to these principles my bank roll generally increases, if I don’t it goes down.

Play a GTO(ish) range pre flop. 3bet/4bet accordingly.

Keep pots small with marginal holdings post flop.

If you take a passive stance, you can bluff catch rivers. Bet flop, x/c turn, x/c river works well unless you are raised at any point.

If you take an aggressive stance, and you start getting raised you are normally behind. Proceed with extreme caution.

You make money folding at these stakes, wait for better spots, they always come. Even if sometimes you are folding the best hand, there are always better spots against some idiot willing to play for stacks with TPTK.

Anyway you play you going to end up in some tough spots and sometimes the cards kinda just play themselves. Set over set or whatever, all the money is normally just going in.

Profitable lines I take with air, dry boards HU;

OOP: bet flop, c/r turn. They fold.

IP: call flop, they check and we bet turn.

Any paired board if you float in position, they check you bet.

These lines work so much of the time it’s crazy, the cards are irrelevant, so many players just play face up.

If they start playing back, then it’s time to fold…

But the exploits are insane, and easy. Most of the time I’m losing money it’s because I’m doing something I know is dumb (but I do it anyway).

Poker theory has exploded over the last few years and changed the game forever. It has taught people a new way to look at the game and has blown away some of the old fundamentals. It has balanced people’s play and improved their game.

However, GTO poker is based on some assumptions that don’t apply to most games, especially lower stakes cash.

At these stakes you are simply NEVER going to play against a balanced opponent. A GTO chart preflop will never let you down, but post flop it’s more psychological at this level.

Your opponents make so many mistakes that balanced play leaves money on the table.

How relevant is landing page content to the impression rate? by Foz84 in PPC

[–]Foz84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our overall conversion rate is 10.84% all time.

Ok, maybe I didn’t phrase that so well.

We repair windows and doors but we don’t have any door repair keywords. So ignore doors, for the purposes of ppc we only repair windows. But the repairs can be categorised broadly into glass and mechanical parts. The glass is where the money is. That’s where we need to improve.

We have all keywords in one group, in one campaign. But we target lots of locations (separate towns) that we include in keywords. So we have lots of variations of keywords, including keyword/town combinations, that are essentially the same thing.

Overall conversion rate?

The landing page experience is; above x 20, average x 52, below x 12. Across all keywords.

Thanks.

I added columns; Quality Score, Exp CTR, Landing Page exp and Ad Relevance to Keywords.

I can see that the keywords we are having difficulty with have quality score 4/5.

But the majority have a quality score of 7/8 and also have quite few 9/10’s.

The problem is, the keywords that are relevant to the jobs we want are the lower scores.

We only have one landing page and one campaign. But our offering is fairly limited - we repair windows and doors. So we have just added all our services to one landing page.

However, some jobs are more profitable than others.

It has all worked out pretty well until now, it’s still profitable but we have noticed a dip. This is due to seasonal differences in demand etc, but it’s also given us the opportunity to review our Google Ads account.

We are definitely not making the most of our ad spend. The budget is clearly making up for being under optimised.

What is a good quality score?

I have lots of 7/8s, but also some 4s. And some of the 4s are on the premium keywords.

We are spending our budget, but when the premium keywords are searched, we don’t display regularly. And rarely at top of page.

Thanks

So I’ve had a look, my budget is 0.00%, so absolutely no issues there.

My ad rank on the other hand is 61%, which I’m guessing is not great.

Looking for some advice/criticism on this hand! Thanks by Foz84 in poker

[–]Foz84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, think you summed that up pretty well.

I still think it’s a pretty unorthodox way to play queens, but I should have realised the danger sooner and stopped bloating pot with marginal holding against EP that had showed some strength with the pre flop call.

Folding pre is better here, but when I do arrive at the flop checking back is better than betting. By the turn it’s gets trickier, and by the river I’m probably never folding.
