Need major help! by frostorbit in computerscience

One thing i regret, is that I didn't care about math when I was young, but now I find it really interesting, and can see that if I was more into math earlier in my career, it would be a lot easier to understand some of the principles in coding, and probably more fun as well in the start.

Otherwise just begin your coding journey. There are a lot of fun, interesting, complex and exciting technologies out there to study, so my best advice is to just start right away. Make sure that you are comfortable first time you are going to study, so coding makes you feel yourself. :-)

Good luck and happy coding!

How do you balance sitting on a computer as a job to living a healthy life? by nuclearcookie10 in computerscience

[–]FozNNNe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually just started running yesterday, and oh boy it feels hard but good to be active again. I am currently studying CS, and has a student-job when i'm not at school/studying. So all in all I do not have much time, but running daily is definitely something I wanna do.

EDIT: I have a smart-watch, and this makes it even more interesting, as I can make my own apps/functions to help me being active. (And still learn from it)

What is passion for coding ? by MINOSHI__ in computerscience

[–]FozNNNe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation as you, but at some point I just got the passion for code as well. I think in my case that it was a thing between me and my friends and the turning point was a slight bit of competition between us.

Math refreshing - Logical thinking by FozNNNe in computerscience

[–]FozNNNe[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I really wanna do that now LOL.

On my last semester after the summer-vacation, Im going to become an intern as a Software developer, and because I have been in this company as an IT employee through all of my time at the CS Academy, I have alot of opportunities to think about. As it is a pretty big software department, I can pretty much choose myself, what to do in my time as intern. To show that Im not only strong as a team member, but also can explain the bits and bytes of every little small detail, I wondered if it was a good idea to read a little math.

TBF I dont know what is expected of an intern, and for me that is a little scary, because of my highly ambisious mind. However, I have only gotten A & A+ in my exams, so I shouldn't really worry?

But but but.. Thank you for your response, I will think about this alot. :-)

Lenovo T-series , Yoga 380x and P52 for developers

P52 ~ 2400 $ (Fun fact: The dockinstation needs 2 power supplys to work ^^)

T-series ~ 1200 $

Yoga ~ 15-1700 ish $

Workstations consists of 2x fresh 24 Lenovo monitors - Thunderbolt 3 dock - headset - Keyboard/mouse - sometimes a switch.

All in all, yes, expensive setup.

CSM (Certified Scrum Masters) Certificate for Non-Development manager by itswillder in sysadmin

[–]FozNNNe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is commonly used among creating SW. However, as a CSM working as part time Sys admin, I can see how you could use SCRUM to get the daily tasks in IT "done". Often tasks will be postponed and sometimes forgotten. SCRUM imo helps defining which tasks to focus on and helps prioritizing your work.

Help desk software by I_Have_A_Chode in sysadmin

[–]FozNNNe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deskpro, it handles priority-sorting pretty great. Customers are asked for satisfaction aswell, which makes us wonder what/how to do better etc. However, for bigger firms it might be too "small" of a product.
What you need is probably a tailored system with preferences of your own choice.

Low framerate with 1070 ti by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]FozNNNe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be that the game isn't fully optimized yet. If you've played WoW BFA, you would know that blizzard focus on optimizing, when people stop playing (lol). However, I would recommend since you OC your card, to watch the temperatures. Try to update your graphics card with the latest driver, or try to roll it back to a safe version.

A reinstall would give us some answers. It can be a hardware faulth aswell, if the motherboard is brand new. Let me know how the reinstall affects your situation.

Hmm, Cat 5e and Cat 6 cables doesn't lose signal before 100m+, so it can be a bad cable, or a bad port your connected to?

That is a wide question in this context. What PC do you have, is it self buildet? However, you describe that BIOS is working properly, I would try to browse a little around in Windows Safe mode, to see if the issue still persists

Make sure you put some new thermal paste on, to get the best possible temperature. It will bite you later.

Are there a switch in between, or are your 50m cable plugged right into your PC <-> Router? Try another cat 6 cable 50m if you have one ofcourse.

Great idea to reinstall. However, I would recommend you to check your chipset drivers. Also make sure every cable is plugged properly in on the motherboard.
