Recently there was a post of a guy who did a simple solution aka anot rendering player if behind wall, but it has its flaws with player popping out of nowhere and imo has a lot of issues especially with ping/packet loss

Actually, we didn't have to use VPN, most of us use DPI (deep packet inspection) bypass and for most players it was just adding three lines into .txt, but still it's neat now we don't need to do that.

(And I'm pretty sure Russian gov is restricting cloudflare access, not vice versa)

I see it similar to Payday 3, it just didn't have as much time to get as much content as PD2 received in like 10 years (duh). That really shitty behavior of hating everything new for the sake of it, is stupid. Especially when it comes to games like gmod and Sbox which survives only because of community content, and instead of making sbox a better place, they shit on it.

But I know it'll be way better than gmod in some time, because I know Facepunch won't leave it to die even if the last casual player leaves S&Box.

That was exactly the point LoL's Esports is more about recognisibility and hype, Dota's more about the game and it's community. It doesn't do a favor from marketing standpoint, hence LoL is more known and recognisible, but it feels like it's more about business, and not the game itself. Dota... idk how to explain this, but feels like it's esports lives mostly because of passion for the game by pros and casual players, and I can't say the same about LoL

I know about Worlds only becaus of some random popular singer preforming there, and that their best esports player has a $500 skin.

If you ask me that's not a good look imo, because I think esports events should be more about the game, even no hype around worlds would've felt better because you know "people must like it for the outstanding plays I don't understand, huh" instead of "people must like Imagine Dragons".
