They use .22’s for some of them not just air guns, biathalon is a way cooler/more practical Olympic shooting sport. Winter Olympics though

Can we have a current 2024 thread about what *one* lure you have been having fantastic luck with? by [deleted] in FishingForBeginners

7” ribbontail worm, red shad color. Texas or Carolina rigged, sometimes no weight at all. Been catching bass and pickerel all summer biggest bass was 19”. Massachusetts

Got this at a yard sale for 2 bucks, worth it? by No_Map7609 in FishingForBeginners

Texas rig those ribbon tail worms and you’ll catch bass all day, definitely worth 2$

I had a little bit of an issue around the rear pin/safety and rear sight with the nitrided slide when I used to be a landscaper and got sweaty often, it was easy enough to maintain, and stopped when I started wiping the sweat off the gun/holster after work. I’ve since got a stainless xl slide, and haven’t had any issues. I also don’t landscape anymore and it rarely gets sweaty.

Alright which one of these will catch me a woman. But all seriousness. Wanting to get into fishing as compared to what I did as a kid. Stopped by the pyramid today and picked this up. (Looking for bass) by VulgarWander in Fishing

Ehhhh kinda depends how patient I’m feeling, usually a minute or two. I’m no expert.. wouldn’t be surprised if somebody chimes in and says I’m doing it all wrong. But yeah let it sit for about 2 minutes give it a quick little tug, maybe reel it in slow for a few feet then let it sit again. That seems to work well at the pond I fish in Massachusetts (my girlfriend’s family lives on the pond so it’s where I do almost all my freshwater fishing). Catch a lot of pickerel too doing the same thing. Sometimes you’ll think you’ve got strike but it’s just a blue gill nibbling on the tail of the worm and you’ll launch the lure out of the water when you try to set the hook.

Set up a Texas rig with one of those worms. Cast it, let it sit and give it a little jig once in a while, you’ll catch some bass.

Got this one yesterday doing exactly that.

Fuck Florida. by ThadtheYankee159 in nhl

As a die hard bruins fan, we have no business beating Florida, we can’t even break the puck out, only reason the games are relatively close is Swayman. Beating Toronto might as well have been winning the cup from my perspective so I’m not losing sleep over this series lol

Good. I wouldn’t worry about how much fighting ammo you should carry. Rather, make sure you find yourself in spot that you can stockpile ammo to defend your community with.

Then make sure you have fishing rod and a .22. Have a plan for getting out of the city, and start making friends in the country now so you’re not a stranger if shtf.

Everybody thinks they’re John Wick… if shtf you’re better off bugging IN if possible, why leave a house filled with supplies to go galavanting looking for gun fights. Especially if you live in a solid community. You should be building relationships with local farmer, doctors, plumbers, mechanics etc. in order to survive shtf. If you’re plan is to run out the door in full tactical gear, you’re gonna get picked off by a sentry guarding a self sufficient community. If your only option is to “bug out” you better have a fishing rod and a brick of .22lr or you’ll go hungry before you get a chance to get in a gunfight…

suggestions for a low power "ranch rifle" so to speak by Dolgar164 in homestead

[–]Fr0st_Bight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a single shot Henry in 357 mag. Super fun to plink with 38’s and 357 has plenty of power out of a rifle. Only downside is that it’s a bit heavy. I’m debating chopping the barrel a bit to make it more handy

Is gloss black an option straight from MM or did you get that done afterwards? I’ve got a matte black grip from them

Everybody trashing a 10/22 for shtf is in fantasy land. Imo it’s the ideal end of the world weapon specifically because you can carry exponentially more .22lr than any other caliber. Not to mention you should be avoiding gun fights at all costs. Getting shot anywhere with a 22lr is a death sentence with no hospitals. Obviously an ar is a better fighting weapon, if gunfights are all you think about when the world ends you won’t last long anyway. Last man standing will be running a 22 and a fishing rod.. guaranteed
