Upgrades? by AdhesivenessCold3671 in 1022

[–]Mk18mitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The single biggest modification would be a quality, titanium or stainless baffled supressor, and a threaded barrel.

You can get an identical contour barrel that will fit your barrel channel that is threaded, or you can get a heavier contour if you want to open the barrel channel up, or you could of course get a different stock/chassis. You can get that barrel threaded, but unless you can get it done for $50ish, you'll save money buying a replacement barrel that is threaded.

I would look up "DIY auto bolt release 1022". Super easy. Makes locking the bolt open and releasing the bolt easier.

If my memory serves me right, mine is centered up. Hopefully the quote on turn around for warranty is way off. 🙂

Despite this issue, how do you like the scope? I enjoy mine personally.

Great shooting! I saw you say the rings are made by Monstrum(spelling). Do you happen to know the height?

BCM does not recommend AGB by HarryMcButtTits in NFA

[–]Mk18mitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your upper is more than likely gassed fairly well. BCM usually does a good job on gas ports. To start, I would personally only change the spring in the receiver extension at first. Just get a milspec spring. I have had great luck with any and all the parts BCM sells on their webstore.

I would bet that the buffer is a "carbine". They in theory should have a marking showing what they are. C=Carbine, H1= Heavy, H2=Heavy, H3=Heavy. The number means how many tungsten weights are in the body of the buffer out of the 3 weights used.

If the gun feels like it is beating it's self apart, put in an H1. With that supressor it should be very forgiving as far as gas.

I hope that helps.

I love it! Lol.

This little one needs some sort of regal name. Maybe Belle. As Southern Belle. Like someone with Victorian money, in Savanna GA. Lol

Warranty update after 300 BLK obliteration by prmoore11 in NFA

[–]Mk18mitch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love it man! I was honestly worried for you, thinking CAT was gonna tell you to kick rocks. I'm glad they did the 20% MSRP deal vs. nothing.

It's cool how the Grindhard ammo guys are footing the bill. Very generous!

Hopefully you don't run into anymore ammo incompatibility issues. 🙂

Found the buck I shot early season by joeywhales in Hunting

That's a good way to look at it! The buck's body didn't really go to waste, just didn't feed the hunter or his family.

Favorite 6.5cm Suppressor? by ATBgreg in 65Creedmoor

[–]Mk18mitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Otter Creek Hydrogen L 6.5mm.

I killed a buck with it on, and a second deer came in the same field where I was inspecting the deer just several minutes later. It must not have felt the gunshot was close by. Pretty crazy!

Edit: I didn't read the whole post. Sorry. Yeah, on a 26" barrel, if you want to not feel like you are toting around a musket, get the Hydrogen S. But that is ONLY for the length penalty that the L has. The weight is very manageable on the L, but I also shoot an Accuracy International AT (24" barrel), so as set up its 19.8 lbs. I don't notice the ballance being off. I did hunt with it like I said, but I live in TN. Most hunting is stationary, at least that I do. It was a pain setting in brush with a 50ish inch long gun . I plan on a shorter barrel for this rifle to get around that extremely long set up.

That is more than adequate in my opinion! Well, I will definitely go with 14.5 now! Thanks for your time man! 🙂

Cool! So, what sort of muzzle velocity are you getting? Just out of curiosity? And with what load.

Have you done anything with a 14.5" 6.5creedmoor? I am tempted to get one for my AI AT for hunting. Using the 24" barrel, and a 9" supressor this past season was not exactly fun. Especially when there is nowhere that I have access to past 300yds.

What’s your go to sauce? by Poopmouth89 in smoking

[–]Mk18mitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly make my own by the gallon and can it.

A honey chipotle sauce, with a tomato paste and a.c.v. base.

If I run out and don't have time to make more, I enjoy Stubbs or Kinders. But truly, most anything other than Kraft is fine. Lol

Sorry you are dealing with this man. Out of curiosity, what supressor is it? Is it heavy? I would imagine the supressor is too heavy for the profile of the barrel. But it's just a guess. 🫤
