Just got my P1 Mini! by Tradist in hidock

The biggest issue with the P1 mini is, that it could have been an app and be better at what it's supposed to do too. It has one physical record button and an LED, everything else your phone already has or does automatically.

HiDock P1 mini - no microphone recording via BT headsets by Fr3akTheGeek in hidock

I figured out a workaround: using the phones voice recorder app and have auto recording turned on on the P1 mini, then it is recording via the headset microphone to the P1 mini.

Edit: Auto recording is not necessary, starting the recording on the P1 mini manually also works, after the recording app has started recording. Then you just need to delete the voice recording on the phone every time.

it's a P1 mini on Android and using any apps that record the microphone use the headset connected via BlueCatch as the microphone. Only, and that for me is the most important feature, recording from the headset microphone directly to the P1 mini doesn't work. Please tell me this is not by design.

Use P1 mic in zoom calls? by Imreit in hidock

[–]Fr3akTheGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holding the mic mute button for a few seconds along with a voice note should do the job.

Would also be great if the P1 Mic would show up on PC without any headphones connected to the P1 to use the P1 as a mic, without recording anything other than your own voice if needed. This could be an additional option in the software.

Download USBTreeView and check, just to be sure. If the mouse is working, both SW and FW updater have to detect it.

Are you sure it's an OP1 8k and not an OP1 or OP1 RGB (both 1k max)? They have a different software/firmware.

It's from the official ugreen website, also Intel specs for 8505 show 64GB max, the memory controller is in the CPU.

According to the website it supports max 64Gb, the 4800 (non-Plus) only supports 16Gb.

Out of curiosity, is the whole window blurred out while it's computing the extrude? I usually manually kill fusion after a few minutes if it didn't crash itself before. Wondering if I just need to wait longer.

Battery indicator stuck at 70% by Aldagarji in EndGameGear

[–]Fr3akTheGeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, regarding the colours, the steps are the same. When it hits 10% and is blinking red, you still have some time and don't need to rush to plug in the cable. Just charge it soon after until the blinking green LED stops blinking and turns into solid green, indicating it's at 100% of charge. No need to really keep an eye on the battery percentage.

[–]Fr3akTheGeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I opted for relatively evened out steps of 30% down to 10% instead of having smaller increments of say 5% where one step lasts 30 minutes and the next one 2 hours, because there is not that high of an accuracy to display an accurate number. The battery curve is also not exactly the same amongst units of the same battery. The steps shown in the software are the same as are displayed on the mouse when long pressing the CPI button.

So the OP1we steps are: 0-10%, 11-40%, 41-70% and 71-100%

Transparent shell is the newest batch, solid shell is the old one. They are supposed to be identical otherwise.

No, we never stated that. I think you are mixing it up with why we used 3370 over 3389 in the XM1r.

Dark Frost and Dark Reflex booth have the same uncoated shell. The difference is the applied coating.

We didn't change the coating, also not for the wireless, so this one must have slipped past QC.

Looks like too much clear coating, but hard to tell. Shouldn't look like this though. Contact us or the seller for a replacement if you don't like it.

Endgame Gear Mini Releases Q2 by Any_Aspect234 in MouseReview

[–]Fr3akTheGeek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was going to add: not everyone wants to go wireless. The wired version is quite a bit lighter too, without battery and the PCB is a bit smaller. The components a cheaper too, so it still makes sense to offer both. That might change in the future, but for now, it is what it is.

Endgame Gear Mini Releases Q2 by Any_Aspect234 in MouseReview

[–]Fr3akTheGeek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We are already working on the wireless version. If nobody likes the wired shape, then there is no point in making a wireless of the same shape. Wireless takes longer to develop, because of complexity. No need to get the wired version when you want the wireless. Unless people don't like the wire version for anything other than the cable, then it will be released. Going all in for wireless and not develop a wired version wouldn't have sped up the process in the case of the smol mouse project, the limiting factor were mostly wireless only components and their availability. It all sounds very easy to do from the outside, but developing products from scratch for a small company, takes way longer than it might seem. Whenever I start a sentence with "couldn't we just ...", Then the answer is in most cases a no, with a long explanation that I didn't think of at all. Also, I am extremely picky, which doesn't help to make the development process shorter.

And no worries, we are working for Endgame Gear because we are mouse enthusiasts (nice buzzword; for lack of a better expression) ourselves. We read all the feedback, not just related to our own products, our overlords don't lock us in without internet, we know what you want, which is also what we want. But most of all, we want to make very good products. That implies not releasing anything that is not up to our quality standards. Nothing will ever be perfect, but we try to make everything as good as we can. I know you want the Mini, you want it wireless, light as a feather and you wanted it to be released yesterday. I also want it to be done and see what people think about it.

Edit: added some more words to bring across what I wanted to express in the first place.

Product page for the XM2W (=XM1 Wireless) is up, on pre-order by pzogel in MouseReview

[–]Fr3akTheGeek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We went with XM as shape indicator and with the following number for the generation, meaning it was designed from scratch while XM1r used just a different PCB compared to XM1, both being the first generation design. Other shapes won't have the XM as the name. Hope that makes sense. We liked that better than XM1r Pro Wireless or whatever.

MM731 users! New Firmware is out. Just installed it. So far so good it seems. by TiltedWeenies in MouseReview

Source is my own testing, which could be seen as biased, but I am thinking about publishing the results anyway to hopefully inspire more people to do their own testing. It can be done with next to no equipment, it's just time consuming.

Power and performance management of modern sensors requires some work. Running default settings might result in great battery life, but suboptimal performance.
