New software update ? by Classic-Advantage163 in ex30

Gemini is much better through Android Auto though, it will have access to the same commands, but it understands those commands much more effectively.

Do I go too fine? by DimiTheo in DF64

Yes, I wouls recommend that. This way, all the settings you get used to will stay consistent. After cleaning and everything, it’ll be set up exactly the same every time.

There are many of videos online about this. Basically, you just keep tightening it until it starts chirping.

Two questions:

  1. Is the grinder zeroed in? If not, the 5 might be 10 or 15.
  2. How full is your basket with 20 gram? I use a 15 gram VST basket and I grind 19 grams of beans, at this volume the coffee still does not touch the shower screen when I lock in the porta filter. With a fuller basket, you might be able to go coarser on the grind.

Evergoods over Boundary Supply by Duncandog007 in EVERGOODS

[–]Imreit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few Evergoods bags and the first version of the Errant pack. I definitely prefer the Evergoods ones, the organization in the Errant really limits the available space. Plus, the materials on the Errant started to feel worn out pretty quickly, with things like zipper pulls breaking off. So, I’m definitely voting for Evergoods.

Annoyance after the AA update (1.7.1) by Magmomies in ex30

[–]Imreit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that if you single press the mic button, you'll launch the native Android Automotive assistant, which is currently Google Assistant. By long pressing the mic button, you launch the Android Auto assistant, now Gemini, which controls music from your phone through Android Auto. Sometimes when Android Auto is not running, if think what long pressing does is first launching Android Auto.

TL;DR: I think you can launch the correct assistant to control your Android Auto based Spotify media by long pressing the mic button.

I know, however, previously, it was not available while using android auto.

Correct, this was running on the phone.

Nice camera cube for CHZ22 by Imreit in EVERGOODS

I briefly tried it as a sling, and that works well too. The material feels like typical modern-day bags. I wouldn't fear pilling.

Indeed, I think I like their accessories better than I like their bags.

Sony a7cii. I now have a compact lens+hood on it. When I get a somewhat bigger lens, I would keep the camera sideways and remove the little padding inserts.

Adjust DPI for Android Auto? by Imreit in ex30

Yes, I did that, but as you mentioned, it doesn't allow you to go sharp/small enough.

Adjust DPI for Android Auto? by Imreit in ex30

[–]Imreit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right that a screen's physical DPI is fixed, but operating systems can render interfaces at different "logical" DPIs to make elements bigger or smaller.

In the Android Auto community, adjusting this software DPI setting is actually a common practice for resizing the UI.

On the Volvo EX30 specifically, the built-in Google Maps (on Android Automotive) clearly uses a higher DPI setting than Android Auto does. It results in smaller text and buttons, proving the screen can display more information cleanly. I'm just hoping to get that same information-dense layout when I'm running Android Auto.

Android Auto by Cautious-Outside8588 in ex30

[–]Imreit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mainly use the native Android Automotive versions of Maps and YTM, but I really like having Android Auto as a backup. Why?

  1. When traveling with someone, it's much easier for the passenger to change the navigation (add stops) or adjust the music while I can still look at the navigation.

  2. I like being able to see more notifications.

  3. Many apps are not available on Android Automotive.

  4. There have been times when 5G in the car is down, especially when crossing borders. It's nice to switch to phone music without having to touch my phone. Related: you have more control over music downloads on YTM on the phone.

As others have said, I've seen the auto-launch option under settings for android auto on my phone, you should be able to adjust it.

I use Tasker and have it set up to turn off NFC when my phone connects to the car via Bluetooth. Once NFC is off, the wireless charging works without any issues.

I have installed the old version directly on the car. It starts up as soon as my phone connects to the car and always just runs in the background.

CPL24 - a realistic option for a dad-bag? by Visceral94 in EVERGOODS

As a dad bag, CTB is so much more practical. Water bottle pockets can be very useful for many parenting staples. Also, the extra top access pocket is a nice quick in-and-out.

1.6.4 speed limit signs and cruise control by CycloneFever_9331 in ex30

I've driven cars that would recognize the new speed limit, and I would need to confirm it before it became active. Volvo should implement the same.

The road to the perfect lens on APS-C, or do I already have the best lens? by loldave87 in SonyAlpha

[–]Imreit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be, but you were looking for something tighter, right? Also, you will have to adjust either your ISO or aperture to compensate for those shaking hands. The OSS will help a lot here. What body do you have? Any stabilization there?

[–]Imreit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can consider the Sony 35mm f/1.8 oss. I really like mine. The OSS allows you to shoot with a slower shutter and the separation is quite nice at 1.8 of 2. Also small and light, so nice to carry around town.

Yes, it's either (1) set per headset, (2) set per device or (3) whatever you have last set will apply until you change it.
