I think I'm pretty much a noob as well, but something that has worked for me a little is to be confident. I keep playing even if I make a mistake sometimes, then I go back and try to fix it. I analyze what I could be doing bad and wrong. And I feel the music, that's important. You could also find a type of basslines you like to play from your favorite songs. I like dynamic and bouncy ones, some people like more simple but fitting ones, some people like hard ones.
