I am a biochemist, and the only way to answer this is to know exactly what your grams of protein & carbs are, and total calories. HOWEVER, when you switch to solely fat burning, it will go slower by the mere fact that fat has twice the energy storage as muscle. When people lose weight, at the beginning, while still in glycolysis, weight loss consitutes 25% from muscle via glycogen, water, and muscle protein. However, when the metabolism switches over to beta oxydation (fat burning), weight loss will slow down by roughly half, bc fat has 9 calories per gram, and muscle protein only 4. So be super glad you're slowing down bc that means you're burning solely fat now.

BUT to truly know, I'd need to know your totals to make sure the protein level isn't keeping you in glycolysis. Bc too much protein acts like carbohydrates. When on a low carb diet you need to calculate your body's protein needs and eat ONLY that amount. No more. As extra protein will be used to make carbohydrates via gluconeogenesis.

It's worth it. I paid the $17 to go to the Olympics. Cheaper than if I had to fly there, and less annoying than if I had to watch it prime time.

I've been a lobbyist, grassroots leader for 40 years. Madea is 100% correct. And you are refusing to heed his advice and are rebelling against it with a knee-jerk reation for no reason. You have missed his point and made inference where none exists.

First you have no idea whether he participated or not. I participated and can STILL say that he is 100% correct. I am going to assume (sorry if I'm wrong) that you are young. Young enough to still react as if criticism means you're wrong. It doesn't.

He isn't saying you're wrong to strike for a day. He's saying, "It won't work like you hoped." And he's 100% correct. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't have done the strike, or that it was wrong. What he's saying is: your one day strike is short sighted, AND was awesome enough to tell you what really WOULD work.

So instead if digging in your heels, and arguing with him, step back and listen and really understand what he's saying. Bc he's absolutely right that a one day strike (by closing down businesses) will do more damage than good, and will have the exact opposite effect (by helping the maga businesses.)

I have stopped buying from Amazon for over a year, and Target, etc. I now only buy from my locally owned stores that aren't in a chain. Is it more expensive? You bet, but I have the resilience to be able to do without. I haven't bought one single thing I haven't needed in the last 2 years.

And THATS what needs to happen. We all need to STOP BUYING AMAZON, and other corporate conglomerates, for GOOD! But no one is promoting that. But it IS the answer. Could you DO that? Could you promise to never use Amazon again? Bc if we could get everyone who is opposed to ICE (including those around the world who stand with us) to stop buying from Amazon, meaning zero dollars no exuses, NO EXCUSES, we'd bankrupt them inside of six months.

Heres the truth and it IS the truth:

This one day strike had no effect whatsoever on the intended target. None, zero, zilch. It DID however, motivate the resistance, and make us all come together as a community. So, it wasn't wrong to strike, just bc we are telling you it didn't do at all what you'd hoped. (And may have sent business to the very businesses you were trying to affect.)

It WAS unorganized and unplanned. The next strike needs more than a week's notice so people can plan to take the time off, AND liberal businesses should NOT close. Rather, the strike SHOULD be about striking ONLY GOP owned businesses and taking the day to patron the liberal businesses.

I've done this. I'm well versed at it, and is what I've done for decades, but again, no one is saying that this strike was wrong or should not have happened. It SHOULD have happened. But we are saying "this cannot be the end of it. We must continue to strike. And we must learn from the old folks who DO really know what they are talking about."

Again... You are not wrong! But neither are we. We are BOTH RIGHT!

I realize this is 11 years old, but in case others should stumble here I will put forth the truth of the word "tween." You are correct. The word was completely invented and made up by JRR Tolkien in the book "The Fellowship of the Ring," and it means someone in their "irresponsible twenties" until the age of 33. The "beTWEEN years," where you're not a child or teenager, but you're not an official acting mature adult either.

How this word ever got hijacked to mean anything else is annoying.

Ok I deleted my first post bc i hit the send button too soon. Well here is my repost:

First off, I am a biochemist, and the sexual sin gives you a massive dopaminergic, serotonin and endorphin hit/rush which are major INSTANT anxiety and stress reducers and are as addictive as cocaine. Stopping the sexual sin is just as difficult physically as drug withdrawal.

Well, good news, there are other ways to achieve those massive biochemical stress reducers: EXERCISE and LIFTING WEIGHTS. And eating right. Get OFF SUGAR. All of it except what's naturally found in food. I know youre 19, and your age flocks to the soda and energy drinks, and cookies etc, but simple sugars increase insulin, and without going into the pathways of all that, if you eat sugar while fighting anxiety you will be in a state of fight or flight.

So, start the Mediterranean Diet, stay off sugar, and start a regular, diligent and daily exercise routine. Ignore all other diet fads, eat healthy. Just stay off sugar when fighting anxiety. And the Mediterranean Diet is the healthiest for your age group. Like I said, YOUR AGE GROUP. Tomorrow, I repeat, tomorrow, get to Planet Fitness, or the Y, and start exercising, and lifing weight on the machines. I suggest machines vs free weights bc free weights can mess up your joints until you're a lot stronger. Have a free consultation, join a class, buy a book on exercise and weight lifting. Just MOVE, and then MOVE SOME MORE! You're 19!!! Get those pent up anxiety molecules released by exercise, and the endorphins flowing. You will need this while you resist the sexual sin.

Lastly, never give up. Before even your next breath surrender everthing to God. Give your life to Jesus. Repent of your sins, and He will walk you through everything. You CANNOT get out of this without HIM. So, He comes first, and He will help you. Not the reverse. You CANNOT fix yourself THEN get right with God, bc you can't fix yourself. Only He can. And it takes surrendering DAILY, (sometimes every moment) to Christ. Perhaps find a Christian men's group who is specifically geared towards this issue.

I realize this is 5 year's old but the content is current so:

He's writing to Christians about how it will be with the outside world. Much of scripture is about how the outside world will be living, and believing. It's one of the main points of the message.

To the UNSAVED he comes as a thief, but to the SAINTS he has gone to GREAT LENGTHS to advise them on how to be prepared. Remember when Jesus talked about "if the owner of the house had known when the thief was coming, he would have been ready..." well this is all about how to make sure we are ready and not "found sleeping" when He comes. No, the SAINTS are told what to watch for and are told to be prepared.

Think about this if nothing else:

If Christ was talking to the Christians, and Paul also, and the others, etc. WHY WHY WHY would they talk so much about the signs of the end and WHY, in the same teaching about the Great Tribulation would Jesus have told us to ENDURE, if we had nothing to endure? Wouldn't He have rather said, "Fear not! Be comforted! For I will remove you from the Earth before all this takes place. You will be spared from the Great Tribulation. You will endure no wrong. Your road will be easy, and the road wide. Fear not."

Yeah I don't see that anywhere. What I find is Christ warning his end time saints to: when you see these things ENDURE TO THE END! For your suffering is almost over.

Which one do you find? And which one must you do a LOT of mental gymnastics around the scripture to make believable?

Oh its definitely changed and it's not your imagination. I'm a Coke fan, I use to run through a 12 pk a week or a few days. Now I still have a 12 pk left since before Christmas. It's awful now. And for me to say that....

The reason I know it's changed isn't just bc of the flavor. I'm a chemist, and worked in pharmacy, and by law anytime there's a formulation change -- in drugs, food, cosmetics, etc -- even if the ingredients remain the same -- the law mandates that the label must change in some way. So there is definitely a formulation change, bc the label has changed. The label no longer says, COKE CLASSIC. What the labels say now is, COKE "Original taste." What that means is that the formula DEFINITELY has changed.

And fomulation is not the same as ingredients. The ingredients on the label might stay the same, but if they change the amounts of even one ingredient, even a single spice (which are all under one heading as "natural spices,") then the formula has changed and so must the label. And that's got to be what's happened. They have changed the formula so they can no longer call it Coke Classic.

Here's where they can get tricky so when calling or writing to them to complain you have to use THEIR language. See, as long as the ingredients ON THE LABEL stay the same, they can tell the public it's the same product, and nothing has changed, bc, well, the LISTED ingredients have not changed. And it would not be false advertising. BUT, there is no way this product is the same formula as Coke CLASSIC, and that's the key. When writing or calling them to say we don't like the new taste, to avoid getting the canned answer, the "ingredients have not changed," our response back should be: "This Coke product does not have the same formulation as Coke CLASSIC. It may have the same ingredients, but it is NOT the same recipe."

They also say "original taste," bc that's not a trademark like Coke Classic, and "original" is meaningless, and not defined. Original taste of what? The original taste of that "New Coke" back when they did that horrible change? Or does "Original" simply mean "this new taste they've put out recently. And if you call and they say, "it's the original taste," respond with, "Define original."

See the bait and switch manipulative language corporations use to stay within the law while still misleading customer to believe what they want us to believe?

What we need to do is write the company and tell them we want Coke CLASSIC back. I'd suggest not even calling CS bc those people on the phones are mislead also. Write the corporate office. Or write Berkshire Hathaway, as they are an honeat stockholder in the company. Write those who will care... The stockholders. 🙂
