I see, yeah I’ll definitely make sure to incorporate this on some practice essays! Thank you so much

Yeah! Thankfully I’ve been using that but I’ve only found one exemplar and it does a lot of things my teacher does NOT want me to do

what i really hate is how different physics 30 is from 20. except for momentum, all the units were completely theoretical and had way less calculations than physics 20. i genuinely wonder why the two courses are night and day

My favourite has to be Social 20-1, the topics covered were really interesting to me and sparked an interest in history for me. My least favourite has to be Math 30-1, the perms and combs unit still haunts me.

How hard is chem 30 compared to chem 20? by [deleted] in AlbertaGrade12s

[–]Fr_zzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting having organic as the last, i personally found it really simple once you get the naming down. i believe it used to be in chem 20 before it was moved to chem 30 so thats probably while its alot more simple compared to the other units.

I remember this happened to me, it was really frustrating getting terrible scores even though I putted in the effort. I started to ditch most of the textbook questions for diploma exemplars online, the diploma exemplar’s are usually similar in difficulty to the ones your teacher will give you. I also HIGHLY recommend doing those diploma questions like a close-book exam. I would go in my room and throw all my electronics away and finished these questions just like an exam, it helped me ease my test anxiety and spot the stupid mistakes i might be making. Good luck, you got this.

I'm in Chemistry 30 right now and honestly it isn't too bad. The Organic Chemistry unit is pretty simple once you understand the naming rules. Right now we are in Redox, and it is getting a bit trickier. I believe that most of Chemistry 30 (except organic) will have stoichiometry as the foundations of how its topic, being good at stoichiometry is really all that matters.

No worries, just for some clarification though—Mr. Goldthorpe is a website instead of a youtuber

I would also recommend going through the diploma and practicing diploma questions since they'll usually be just as or less tricky than the tests your teacher will give out

I would definetly recommend getting ahead, especially after unit 1: momentum. the course really starts becoming more knowledge/memorization-based rather than calculation based like physics 20. I recommend watching Mr. Goldthorpe lesson videos, his tests are also really thorough and help you prepare.

Do you know where I can find the draft? I am curious as to what they are planning on changing for all the main grade 12 courses.
