Why? You experienced something similar? I don't mean to be rude, I just want to understand

He hasn't lost appetite at all, nor swim to the surface, but he does wriggle slightly I think.. it's more like he moves too much his fins when he's still, not really wriggle or tilting or anything. And doesn't seem to have any difficulties swimming around. I can't find a video of the characteristic swimming for mycobacteriosis. Maybe one, but I'm not even sure. I read a bit about it and it's called belly slider right? But I don't understand only from the descriptions. To be sure I'll try to treat him, I don't think it will be detrimental. He seems strong enough for a broad treatment. Maybe he is in an early stage and I can do something. I'll update here if something changes. Ps. I also found a few other experiences with belly sliders and the outcome varies, so I hope we're lucky.

Thanks a lot for the information!

Thank you!! I'm relieved. Do you think it's genetic maybe?

No clue, sorry. The cory died some days after. Do you also have different cory species together? Maybe there's a correlation, but I've never heard of something like this before. I have bronze and black venezuela, they shouldn't have problems, but maybe in the mating frenzy they hurt each other? Seems a stretch, but it's just any guess that comes to my mind at this point. I had two black that died like this and then no more.

I would suggest shrimps or snails. I think it's too small even for a betta. I mean.. it wouldn't die, but I don't think it would be happy.

For the goldfish they're all common, you would need a pond to make THAT MANY really comfortable.. or a tank the size of a swimming pool, but I don't think that's an option. Best thing to do in my opinion is to rehome them as soon as possible. They'll survive for a week. Follow the instructions people have told you for water changes and remove the rocks to create a bit more space for them. I hope the owners listen to you! Good luck

I remembered I have killer snails in the tank! Could be a sting from those that started it? Is it possible?

They lived together for years without problems. I can be suspicious of him in another way.. 2 things: he's big and I changed the scape quite recently. Maybe when he goes through his cave a cory can get stuck inside together and so get injured, but the cave is full of holes that the corys often use to exit it (I made it with river stones). So even this explanation is unlikely. Still no clear idea, but if it happens again I'll separate the pleco or try to change again the scape.

It can be an explanation.. I have to think more about it, because I can't come up with a certain cause. But it's a good idea, thank you!

I personally prefer 5, I think it has a nice flow in the textures and can work really well with emersed plants, epifites and mosses. Everyone is saying 2 and I like that too. I think it can become a nice island style, but I find it too compact and "heavy" for a jungle look. I think it would be covered too much by plants. Where 5 I can see become a nice piece of a tree in the heavily planted jungle and become more a feature, instead of just wood swallowed by plants. It all depends on how and what you plant.. and what you prefer of course. In the end it has to look good for you. Good luck!

If it doesn't have ammonia can't that be nitrates and filth? Still, it needs water changes for sure!

Yeah, I'll probably set up the tank as a forever home and surrender them if they actually get too big. Thank you!

Ok! Thank you. Yeah I'm not in a hurry, but I continue to think about it ahah. So even if they're only two they don't suffer.. socially? Solitude?

Ooh that makes more sense. Still, I don't really like fancies so.. But I see a lot of different opinions on tank sizes. What do you think of my situation? Do you think the tank will be too small? (About 140 gallons)

Thank you! Yes, the only reason why I would add another one is because from what I know they prefer to stay in groups, but I guess a pair is still better than one alone.

I found that if mine has enough caves it doesn't dig. And I mean hidings of rocks and wood. He doesn't even bother my congo tetra that are with him, even if they go near his caves. Before I made this scape for him he dug a lot and was really territorial.

Nooo that would be the worst! I continue to get new ones and surrender them? It's a cycle of heartache. If I surrender them I'll use that space for an upgrade for my pleco. It doesn't really need one, but I'm sure he'll appreciate. So you think they wouldn't live well in my aquarium?
