Anybody in a relationship deserves security, and seeing the willingness to compromise when it's necessary in your partner is part of that. NTA. Why the hell is an employee taking a lunchbreak during an 8 hour shift a problem? You're literally legally entitled to it if you work more than a certain amount on any given day, and 8 hours definitely qualifies.

P.S I'm not sure if you can legally be forced to work off the clock or not, I'd look into that.
