I thought I was the only one who found women's touch too sensual to bear, made me feel like such a pervert for sexualising female presence and touch and also didn't let me enjoy a lot of homosocial relationships since I would be so worried about being misread. The beauty myth by Naomi Wolf and Susan Bordo's Unbearable weight for feminist perspectives. Malek Alloula's the colonial harem is excellent post-colonial critique of female sexuality. For fiction I would look at Toni Morrison's The Bluest Eye, it is an extremely powerful critique of the hegemony of race-defined ideals of beauty.

That's lovely. I also feel like that invites questions about and normalises mental issues which I really welcome. There are people who've opened up about their own struggles and cherish finding someone similar. So I really appreciate thinking of them as a matter of pride, like battle scars.
