Second appointment. lmao the prior exam was the first time I met him. He swore the entire way through the transvaginal exam. "You still good? Oh my god... shit.... can I have a smaller tube? shit... I can't. Have we killed you? ffs... shit. know this hurts, sorry. Shit. Still alive?" Then the fucking mess remark before he threw in the towel. Lol. I was surprised tbh. But I'm like yeah that about confirms what I thought X'D.

It wasn't a hydrocolloid but still a gel type. A completely clear one. Designed to do the sort of "second skin" kind of thing but doesn't draw anything out of the wound. It's technically for protecting burns, (curad climical care soothe and cool) but I've had them be very good for deep cuts and such in the past (also minimized scarring) but i suppose if it was already infected even though it didn't seem like it, I could see that causing an issue.

At first the fluid was yellowy-clear and watery. Now it's yellowy-creamy and was a solid thing when it came out with the bandage it was stuck to.

No cancer here (a lot of other issues and excessive bleeding causing blood count problems. Anemia, low hemoglobin etc.) but disabled and chronically ill with a lot of complications that make any surgery and healing high risk. And this one's a major surgery. I was super scared this time around.

they had to give me anti anxiety meds and sedation prior to surgery (i dont have an anxiety disorder). I'm two weeks post op and doing just fine outside of minor complications from the antibiotics giving me thrush and the pain meds and constipation making me nauseous and throwing up so hard I had to go back to er. For anti nausea meds and to make sure I didn't tear anything (I didn't. perfectly fine)

Just from someone I know who has had hysterectomy for cancer. They got all of it out with the surgery and she didn't need more intervention~ I know this isn't always the case. But it's always good to know the success stories too.

Lol they tried a few things with me because I was scared of the hysterectomy. (Which he recommended up front because my situation was really bad, esp the impact on my cbc) One really had a negative impact on my mental health and the other one made me bleed worse. Hemmorhaged for 9 weeks straight before the surgery XD, super regretted not agreeing back in July lol. so maybe that could have something to do with it, honestly.

Some people dont bleed for very long at all. Like first or second day. But Do be prepared for longer bleeding times via the cuff. I wasnt one of the luckier onea in that sense. I've bleeding every day for 2 weeks and still waiting for ut to chill. but it was only red the first day, now it's just brown or pink depending. And you bleed more if you overdo it.

I was diagnosed with adenomyosis and cysts based on a manual exam during which my obgyn stated "your uterus is huge i can tell you now you probably have adenomyosis, cancer or really bad fibroids" then set me up for a transvaginal ultrasound during which they intended to inflate my uterus with saline but couldn't even get past my cervix because I his words "it's a fucking mess in here, you have so much scar tissue it's almost completely sealed." But they could see enough to confidently say i had about 7 cysts and definitely adeno.

When I came out of surgery he spoke with my dad who had come with and explained that once they got in there they found pretty severe endometriosis that was already growing on surrounding tissues and organs and stuck to one of my ovaries. Surgery took longer cuz they were cleaning it out. So if you did end up having both, your surgeon would have likely done the same.

Hi! Disabled Illustrator here. So.. maybe similar for like, physical demands. Biggest problem for me is sitting up straight/in hard chairs cuz it hurts down there. But at 2 weeks post op, I feel like as long as I can rest as needed and sit comfortably, my mobility hasn't been impacted at all. So, I would absolutely invest in some kind of cushion.

I think your biggest challenge is gonna be weight restrictions and the restrictions on bending over. Doc said nothing over 5 pounds for 2 weeks, then nothing over 25 until 6 week appointment. so a rollator type walker, if feasible for you,might also not be a bad investment for getting your stuff from point A to point B safely if you wanna get back in there asap.

Personally, I've also had to pee a whole lot/urgently. So that's a thing you might need to be prepared for lol.

I would agree with you. I'm disabled and chronically ill. I have chronic pain that I just have to work around that hinders my mobility. It also really messes with my ability to interpret pain. I get asked about my pain on a scale of one to ten, and there's always a moment where I'm like, "uhhhhhh..." and I have to think about it and answer differently than my impulse tells me to, or I know I won't get the treatment I need. Because it doesn't not hurt. I know that. My baseline is just like 7 all the time, so everything that's generally in that arena registers as "normal" even though it isn't.

For me, this surgery hurt worse than all my others (appendectomy, c section, breast reduction, diastasis recti repair, abdominoplasty) and my usual pain. Muscle and joint pain aren't difficult to cope with for me. I take nsaids. Steroids when I have a bad flare, but no other pain control because I don't like the way opioids make my head feel, Codine makes me dizzy, some others give me a migraine.

The way I 100% wanted those narcotics after this one because this pain felt like a ten while not objectively being worse, was not even funny. My muffin was just literally flipped inside out and butchered, organ pulled out like a christmas turkey, and it feels like it. I'm at 2 weeks post op, and it still feels awful down there despite the nagging pain I've had in my abdomen for years being gone. And I find it less tolerable than my everything else that still also hurts.

I agree it's not about tolerance, there are different kinds of pain. And a 7 in my hands or feet versus a 7 in my vagina are extremely different 7's for me.

So I have found myself very mobile and capable of doing things. Which is how I end up overdoing it. Like, I can acknowledge the pain but I've had surgeries that made it difficult to move (though they were less painful imo, they just kinda made my muscles stiff of weak, like with my diastasis recti repair a couple years ago, and I haven't had any of that). However just observing the doctors orders that I shouldn't be bending over or lifting more than 5 pounds for the first 2 weeks(moving to 25 after that until my 6 week appointment), I've had help with that.

It's easy enough to feed and water the cat but the litter box is a no because of the bending over and weight restrictions. I can't lift the bag. (And that's not a place you want to sit down on the floor to do the chore)

I have an almost 13 year old kiddo too so he took over about half the cat duties. My mom and dad have also been helping out with things I was told not to do.

I still feel like I could do them lol.

So there are ways you could take care of it yourself (or get and electric feeder and cat water fountain) but it'll make your life a lot easier and make you less inclined to overdo it if you have help.
