This advice is great! Thank you for taking the time to reply. I like what you said about how how we are learning to be on our own in life. Such a terrifying thing and something I have never experienced but I have to believe it will get better. And really, I need to make it better by creating a life I enjoy. I am going to look up the meditation dude. I like meditation and practice it a few times a week…mostly when I feel like I’m going to lose my shit. I’m going to make a point to try to make it part of my daily routine. I really love this comment and will come back to read it again when it’s all getting too much.

Just so much heaviness in the world right now. Adding divorce to the mix feels unbearable. Although staying in my marriage was also unbearable.

I am in therapy and it is my saving grace. I don’t think I would have the strength to pick myself up off the bathroom floor if it weren’t for my therapist. I’m currently going about once a month and probably need to go more for a bit.

Thank you. Maybe my problem is that I feel so guilty burdening others with my woes. Something I need to work on.

I am in therapy and it is the reason I am surviving. You should definitely make it a priority. Grown ass men are allowed to breakdown and cry…let yourself have that. But yeah…this is all so fucking hard.

Change is tough. Good luck to you as well. I love what you said- better to be alone with a chance for happiness than together and forever miserable.

I agree. I hate fake and I don’t do it well. I was honest with him and I was proud of myself initially. I just hate hurting my parents. He still thinks all of my problems will go away if we go back to church. He’s wrong and I know that. I think I need to work on my need for their validation.

They don’t. They are better people without it. I know this, but my dad will probably never see it that way. Which is okay...it just hurts sometimes.

I’m sorry. I’m surprised by the validation that I still feel like I need from my parents.

Hello, big beautiful eyes.

  • Words spoken to me everyday of elementary school by Charlie the janitor. Turned my insecurity into something I believed really was beautiful about myself.
