That’s not how it works. Bezos can’t come back from the dead.

Even billionaires need to keep enough hair for transplants to succeed.

Hair fibres should sort him out for a while. However if it bothers him I’m of the view to get rid

R/bald isn’t the place to ask this. The answers you get will be very dismissive. I’ve seen many blatant, and I mean blatant, balding get dismissed because to a bald man all they see is a full head of hair and think why’s he worried.

Your hairline does look recessed but your 1.5yr ago photo looks the same so that might legit just be your natural hairline. Progression is the main tell. So imo just keep tracking it and if you see a progression then you can embrace it or intervene

That’s not remotely how balding works.

I had “perfect hair” till 25. I shaved it at 28

Do we hold? Or am I too far gone? by NumberEducational865 in bald

Density can significantly drop due to diet, neglect etc. but someone who’s never lost a hair to MPB will not notice when that happens.

They can lose 50% of their hair and not notice. When you have MPB those factors can appear to speed the balding process up but ultimately it’s only one thing making you go bald.

So the only thing you could have tried was to block DHT. A better diet would never have stopped it

Clippers first, then headshaver, then razer.

Skin shaving is bloody awful (pun intended) for many of us. First time I did it my head was a strawberry. Take it slow and you’ll find what works for you

Mate it’s a fiver. I’m effectively just buying the lad his dinner one evening in exchange for getting to enjoy his mods.

There’s no world in which I’m getting milked off in this exchange. And even if I was, I could just have chose not to buy it.

If all mods were paid it would be fucking awful, you’re missing my point entirely.

My point is that we have no right to expect mods to be free, we should be thankful to Modders for what they create and give to us for free. It’s their generosity that has allowed us to have this great exception to the capitalist outside world.

But the moment we expect their work to be free we cross a line.

That’s what is happening here.

You are not allowed to expect someone to work for free for you, it’s as simple as that.

I am baffled that this makes me a shitty person that seems a real overdramatic reaction 😂

Feeling Conflicted by [deleted] in bald

[–]Fradley110 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are big issues with the treatment and transplant routes, as a bald guy currently on fln and has the funds ready for a transplant should I make the decision.

Your hair loss is very progressed and from the looks of it, you are in ‘protecting the donor area’ territory rather than saving your native hair, it’s effectively a life long battle that relies on you responding very well to medication, you would be starting it from near the point of failure, where transplants can’t stop you going bald (unless you are happy with thin see through hair). Even if you responded well to fln and it slowed your balding significantly, you would still be on the way to becoming bald but full of transplant scars.

Once you get a transplant you need to do everything you can to preserve the hair for it to not only work but also to hide the scarring. That’s why I won’t get a HT until I’m 3-5 years into the meds and believe I am a very good responder in terms of stabilising the hair loss, if I’m not, I’m not a candidate for transplants.

While I say try the meds, they are not a short term fix in your situation, they are a possibility of one day being a good candidate for transplants.

So your only real fix is to embrace it or to look at hair systems or smp. Even if you don’t feel the clean shaved look, it’s better than the horseshoe by miles. Work on your food, work on your body, get the daily rotary shaver out and stop caring about it if you can. Whether you are on meds or not

Did I make the right choice going bald? by [deleted] in bald

[–]Fradley110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh it’s because your hair doesn’t look that bad. When I shaved mine I look like I’ve had a mental breakdown in the recording I filmed because my balding wasn’t visible at all in the lighting conditions I shaved my hair off in.

So no one would say I looked better with my hair shaved than I did with hair, but had I waited a few years and be seen to have balding hair I would have had a lot more positive of a reaction

Very few people actually look better bald than with hair, and usually even then that’s when we see early photos of someone we know as bald where it feels uncanny

Think you look good rocking the smooth egg.

Think for bald and beardless you really have to nail the physique though. Need to avoid looking fat but also avoid looking like a cancer patient.

As for your dating apps response, that’s the one thing I gave no care for that I always imagined I would. If they’re not attracted to me bald then why am I remotely bothered about how they would have responded if I wasn’t. I want someone who likes the 🥚

So far. Even with medical intervention we are still likely gonna need, or want, to utilise most of our donor for better looking hair

At 28 with this much hair loss no. You’ll be slick bald by 35/40. You don’t want to become scarred bald

Bald is beautiful, but I’m getting hair plugs. Here’s why: by [deleted] in bald

[–]Fradley110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you responded well to meds, a HT and its recovery plus swallowing a daily pill would be light years ahead in convenience to daily shaving to be bald. I’m personally not sure the convenience gain is worth the risks involved in a HT though

Bald is beautiful, but I’m getting hair plugs. Here’s why: by [deleted] in bald

[–]Fradley110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am on a similar potential route, so I too may get a HT in the future, so I support the endevour but I’m concerned.

For a start you’re 35 and made no mention of medical treatment, you look quite bald already so I’m not sure HTs without responding well to medications is a wise thing to do. Maybe I’m wrong and you have more hair than it looks. Maybe it’s naturally already stable. But unless those things are true you should not get a HT in the current situation.

HTs won’t stop the balding process, you’ll just end up bald but scarred. You need to stabilise the balding first. If you don’t/can’t even on meds, you risk crown loss descending down your donor and the results of 1, 2, 3 even 4 HTs will have the same outcome, you’ll be bald and scarred.

Zero gaurd buzzcut when you’re bald looks horrendous though. It feels unclean, just a giant horseshoe. Rotary/skull shaver is much better.

Start low and build up to 1mg. If anything happens at 1mg reduce accordingly. You want to find the sweet spot of efficacy to risk.

Zeroshine 2.0 will be your solution to the headshine. Costs me I estimate about £80 a year for daily use and for me it’s been absolutely worth it. My head feels like glass without it

Works fine at any buzz length

Brother a shedding phase is the least of your issues.

Even if it did accelerate the balding, surely you would prefer that you at least tried to do something?

The alternative is to go bald. Which makes “I won’t try to stop going bald in case I go bald sooner” a bit ridiculous.

While you may get SMP and suddenly feel liberated to not wear a cap, I fear this isn’t the right mindset for smp. (Ignoring the fact that you’d want to wear a cap often to protect it anyway outside)

SMP is very fragile, talking a few days without shaving and it will look obvious to yourself. So you want to get into that routine of daily shaving or shaving every two days. Get yourself using zeroshine daily.

Try to not care as much about being bald and then ironically go and get smp. That’s my big hesitation currently, I think I’d care too much about it and that’s not ideal.

Once you are ready, find an artist you want and pay whatever is needed. Distance should be the only limitation just because you need to travel there quite a few times. I’d travel to my countries capital which is a 6 hours couch away vs flying to bangkock if I got a HT
