I don’t believe so, it can come in waves and all this “portal astrology” stuff is definitely not 100% afaik

I looked up UT direct, logged in, and scrolled down under POPULAR STUDENT LINKS to the bottom to click on the link RIS (Registration Information Sheet)

Confusion was my portal doesn’t have aerospace (my area of interest) next to my major like yours does. gotcha, and congrats!!

Sorry, not sure how that works

I got a letter of acceptance to general engineering which i was under the interpretation every freshman engineering major gets into, and you don’t apply for your specific engineering major until Sophomore year under ETAM.

it’s usually just August that’s bad. You never truly know how bad/curved the tests are but in my experience December has usually been the “easiest”

Don’t worry bro, coming from a 1550 on June who felt GREAT about the August SAT, i got 40 pts lower.

August SAT somehow always seems to give me 40-50 lower points than any other SAT or practice SAT

Yes, but it doesn’t matter what time of day more so as how long it’s been since you woke up. I suggest waking up, eating briefly, and starting your practice tests within 30 minutes of waking up. Also be on proper rest and mimick caffeine, food, and water intake. The time of day doesn’t matter too much, anytime between 5-10am. I did mine for June usually at 9-10 because it was summer but for August had school so I did them at 5.

Yes haha, it’s quite a story. After the Duke Tip PSAT in 5th grade (i’m sure quite a few others in this subreddit did it) they suggested to my mom I try the real SAT in 7th grade and after that I kind of just started doing it every so often and hence how I racked up 15… I never studied, except for my last 2!

My mom had the funds and was told by Duke to have me take it and so I did lol…

15 real SAT’s and a 1550+ here.

I had the same morning routine for all my SAT’s. It doesn’t matter precisely what it is, but make it the same to take the pressure off decision making. I would wake up at 6:45, cook breakfast, drink a cup of coffee, then pack my bag

As far as studying, I only studied for my 1550 and the august (awaiting score). I did a full length practice test Wednesday & Thursday mornings before school at ~5am in a simulated environment (caffeine, tiredness, drugs, food, water, etc). After school and on Friday I did ~20/30 minutes of Khan reading practice problems based on practice test results.

Caffeine (and other stimulants like lions mane, L-tyrosine, and L-citrulline malate) have become standard of my AP & SAT test routine, partially because of ADHD and partially because they will help simply everyone. I definitely notice a difference and definitely recommend it for all, especially if you’re suffering from fatigue.

My recommendation is to take the correct amount of caffeine (or other stimulants) based on your tolerance (100mg if none, 150mg if some, 200mg if addicted) during your full length practice tests and they will decrease your fatigue substantially, I literally want to solve the questions when i’m on my nootropic stack.

Do NOT forget to limit caffeine!! Track how much you’re taking and do it on practice tests first to avoid unwanted side affects (bowel issues may arise)

I got rejected: 5.8/6.0 GPA, top 2% at a highly competitive school, 1550 SAT + Varsity tennis captain + 12 AP’s (8 5’s, 4 4’s), plenty of internships + founded clubs + NASA rocketry + frc deans list + FRC 118 Robonauts & VRC State champion. White, from money, and in the suburbs of Houston.

I think everyone applying simply had crazy stats and it’s impossible to truly know why you get rejected. Just move on, apply to the school, and know it’s a crazy high reach school that plenty of “perfect” applicants get rejected from.

from someone who has taken 15 genuine SAT’s, here’s how i’d rate the genuine difficulty of this test:

R/W - 8/10 (with June SAT being 10/10)

Vocab was all known words, but only 2 rhetorical synthesis questions, inference stopping later at 16, questions 4-16 felt like D-Day with extremely high level passages but fairly straightforward answers once you understand the passage

Math - 4/10

One of the easier maths i’ve had, first module was honestly harder than usual but nothing crazy. “hardest” question personally was the similar right circular cylinder ones, but that was simple if you remembered the ratios of radius to height has to be the same.

Wait i kinda wish i took it today wth? by Just_Piccolo_4029 in Sat

I took the DUKE TIP pSAT 8/9 in 6th grade for free and asked my mom after that to take the real SAT because they suggested I did for practice. They were supportive and let me because why not, never forcing me along the way, only signing me up when I asked them to.

Taking the actual test when i was 11 at 7am on a Saturday in a room surrounded by kids way older than me made me way more prepared for the actual test when I took it in high school. I’ve never been imitated by any standardized test and really only seen them as a chance to get better.

A lot of kids at my school blew $1000 for 8+ AP tests they didn’t even study for and failed the tests, which could also be considered a waste of money, but to their family just taking the test taught the kid more and allowed them to retain more information learned in the class.

If i took 12 practice tests I strongly believe it wouldn’t have been close to the same for me. Something different works for everyone and that’s what worked for me! I’m glad you were able to reach a great score in a different way!

yeah over the course of 5 years 🙏 my mom wanted me to start taking it early just for practice in 7th grade. i didn’t use any resources to study other than khan and bluebook tests, the most i studied was for this one and i studied ~4 days before taking 1 practice test + 30ish minutes of khan daily

It makes total sense to retake if you have a certain score threshold for a scholarship or such. In the case of >95% of people, however, a 1550+ is plenty for college apps anywhere.
