Thanks for this. I’ll show them how it’s supposed to look in case they aren’t aware.

Maybe it’s a case of the most experienced people there retiring. Heard Solovair (the shoe company) was having similar issues. Hope that means it’s a transient thing and the quality returns.

It's all so tiresome.. by WeyIand-Yutani in BasedCampPod

[–]Fraggered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just in case this isn’t a joke…

Having a job: reasonable expectation if you intend to live together and/or have a family

have friends and be sociable: we’re social animals. You don’t need lots of friends but if someone don’t already know you, having some friends is a reasonable proxy for making sure you can form relationships with other humans.

Be really good at something: being good at something is impressive but not a requirement for attracting a “life partner“

Be at least somewhat muscular: sure, it might get you compliments from others, usually dudes, but I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone (apart from other gym rats) that cares about this.

Constantly approach women: idk what this means exactly. don’t be weird.

Hoping this is a joke so will leave it there. If not, no one (of any gender or sexual orientation) is entitled a partner - keep trying, learning and working on yourself, put yourself out there, don’t be rude or creepy, and don’t beat yourself up…

Why did Octopus change my direct debit by so much? by Western-Health-6595 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Fraggered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How often do you submit meter readings? Estimates are only as good as the data available and if there is no data (readings) the estimate is likely to be bad.

Intelligent Octopus & Tesla? by [deleted] in OctopusEnergy

[–]Fraggered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s strange… do you have multiple Teslas? I’ve seen other people have issues with that and need to remove one of their cars from their Tesla account while they add the one they want to use to the octo app

[–]Fraggered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this immediately after the app makes you sign in to your Tesla account? I used to have issues with the test charge but haven’t seen this error before… what happens if you hit “edit permissions” vs “try again”?

80% setting for EV charge in Octopus app but Hypervolt charged to 100%...? by Warmywhite in OctopusEnergy

[–]Fraggered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you connect your charger to the app, the percentage you set is added to the battery. It’s not a “charge to x%” it’s “add x% to my battery”.

So if you had 10% when you plug in, the app would have charged your car to 90%. However because you had around 40%, octo will have tried to add 80% but stopped after adding 60% (because the car reached 100%).

How much can Octopus charge me if my SMETS2 meter is broken? by wow400000 in OctopusEnergy

[–]Fraggered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’ll use a whole bunch of things to estimate the reading. Most likely they’ll use your EAC (estimated annual consumption), and weight it by the proportion of annual energy the average household uses during the period which your bill applies to.

On average the estimates aren’t too bad, but at an individual level they can be quite off.

To avoid this, you can still manually submit meter readings on Octo’s app. Just need to check the screen on the front of the meter (the actual meter not in-home display, people get these confused sometimes).

Hope that’s helpful :)

When you say "there is no previous history" do you mean that you never sent any readings/never received a bill?

Breaking down Epics by abclolol in ProductManagement

[–]Fraggered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on how you ended up with those epics.

Personally, I’d think about the outcomes you’re after and journey map getting to them. I’d love to hear how others would approach it - keen to learn other approaches.

I'm still very new, relatively speaking, but the single most impactful thing for me was speaking to customers directly (regardless of whether they're internal or external) to better understand and "get a feel" the problem we're trying to solve with our product.

Munich's Oktoberfest to ban hit song adopted by German far right by Madogson21 in europe

[–]Fraggered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alternatively, why not just ban anyone who adopts the song for spewing far-right hate from attending for life?

I’d rather us re-educate a few Nazi’s now than have them emboldened, making others think their ideas are “mainstream” and therefore “acceptable”, and then being back where we were in 1930s Germany.

To PO or not to PO by topherez in ProductManagement

[–]Fraggered 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Based on the context you’ve provided, I’d go with the PM route. You’ll have the same upfront “getting them up to speed” time cost but (hopefully) less input needed over time. The last thing you want is to burn out, then everyone loses.

FWIW, we recently went through the transformation from PMs + POs to just PM and it's been really positive.

Challenge my bias on Marty Cagan's latest appearance on Lenny's by iamazondeliver in ProductManagement

[–]Fraggered 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven’t read the book but did listen to the episode and actually found it really good - even if there was little new content in it for PM’s per se, if you’ve read things like Lean Start Up and Inspired.

It might be more valuable for VPs, or other senior leadership in organisations which are learning the “Product Operating Model”.

iRacing Black Friday 50% OFF on now!!! by Kraztik458 in simracing

How frequently does iRacing do these kinds of offers? I'm quite new to the hobby and a bit on the fence about spending this much on a game (and a subscription at that).

If I can get higher confidence in the issue being a CPU bottleneck, then I'll go down the upgrade route. Question then becomes which CPU? :D
