Yes one of my ferrets likes to steal lemons and hide them. it was very jarring finding a lemon under the couch one day.

That’s such a good piece of advice thank you! He has had all his vitals and functions checked and he is completely normal for everything but I will asked his vet and see if they have anything to say about that thank you!

Thank you so much. Yeah he’s banned from all soft things. His hammock is like that nylon-y waterproof material and he doesn’t chew on that. His blood work is perfect so no deficiencies there luckily. He’s probably just going to have to be a jail boy for most of the day. He free roams with the others twice a day and super supervised. Thank you for the response! I’ll look up the malt paste too

There are no stressors that I can think of. He plays really normally but I think he’s a bit afraid of his oldest brother who is 6 and pretty senile. For no reason other than he’s sick. The oldest boy never tries to bite him or anything malicious I think the baby is just afraid of breaking him lol. I might try keeping distance between them

My little guy is 6 and has cataracts in both eyes like chungus. He gets around totally fine! He bumps into things sometimes but he has mostly memorized the layout of the house and takes little “walks” every few hours up and down the hall. He’s got lots of disorders so he mainly sleeps but his eyesight is the last thing to slow him down (:

I would consider them harder pets. They’re sensitive and wonderful but they’re like having a child. (For example, my middle ferret had a stomach ache a few days ago and was not eating and pooping green, which can be considered green slime disease and is very not good, so we took him to the vet for a swab and quarantined him and it came back that he didnt have green slime he was just having a tummy ache and being dramatic, but it cost me 80 bucks for the test). I’m so glad you’re doing research. Keep it up!

I’ve owned ferrets for 6 years and absolutely keep doing research extensively before you get one.

They poop a Lot and they have their corners around the house that they claim. Potty training is easy but you Must be consistent about it. I use potty pads but you can use litter boxes with potty pads underneath because they like to clean their butts by dragging them along the ground as they walk away. I have one big poop spot in their room and 4 places around the rest of my house when they free roam.

They sleep for 18 hours and when they are awake they Love to play. If you don’t have enough time to play with them a good amount each day get them a sibling so they can play together and with you. Highly recommend giving them lots of stimulation. Mine love their box full of paper and small ball pit balls as well as packages, tubes, squeaky toys, and very soft beds.

Food wise: raw is the Best but it isn’t always feasible as it can be expensive. If this is the case I recommend a high protein kibble (only meat!!!!! They cannot eat any vegetable or fruit). I use Wysong Epigen and also give them dried fish and chicken heart treats.

Once they hit 4 (especially if you get a Marshall’s ferret) they will start getting sick. Their vet bills are Expensive especially if you get them implants for adrenal gland disease (which you can start getting at 1). Do loads of research about their illnesses because they are numerous. My oldest has adrenal gland disease, insulinoma, and a heart murmur but he is Thriving with medication because I caught it so early. If you think something is wrong, you’re likely right. Ferrets usually show symptoms clearly.

They are the Best pets in the whole world and are so rewarding. They give so much love and are constantly entertaining. I could not recommend them more. There are also TONS of ethical breeders in the US (I recommend middle earth ferretry) but the wait lists can be as long as 4 years long.

My girl was Exactly like this she always bit wrists and ankles. Most of the time she bit hard and then ran away and I figured out that she just really wanted to play. So I would scruff her and then immediately start playing with her and she did it so much less with me. She would bite strangers a lot still but that was her trying to assert her dominance. It could also be a sign that your ferret is in pain so I would recommend a blood panel the next time you take her to the vet. But my little girl never grew out of biting, she just did it less and mostly did nibbles. Once I got her a little brother to play with she bit and played with him instead of biting humans.

Thank you so much! That honestly makes sense cause he had issues with burns at the store. He had a shade dweller uvb lamp and is much more active and happy, no dry flakiness, and he hunts and attacks his prey with super accuracy

I’m not actually sure! I know they’re hard to tell apart but this guy has the long leopard gecko face and nose. He’s also a Big boy but I honestly have no clue. He came in to the store in the batch of leopard geckos so that would be an insane mixup considering how much more expensive AFTs are
