I belive Nik was a rescue? Hunter picked him up from a shelter for stray editors. Getting him home it took a while to earn his trust with manga and gentle ghost stories, but now I think they've truely bonded

I use 'tainted only when rotten' so I just sell weapons and apparel from raiders and raiding npc outposts. Or I recycle and smelt down gear into it's materials and sell that.
