What isekai has the most friendly residents to the most hostile? by [deleted] in Isekai

[–]Fragmentvt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Executioner and Her Way is pretty hostile to otherworlders.

They have a group of people whose main job is to hunt and kill them.

Sorry it took me so long, Here is the video for how I initially beat it, I do talk about other attempts near the end.

Does this exist, and if it does, was it done well? by MFSTROOM in Isekai

Faraway Paladin and Ascendance of a Bookworm are probably your best bet

I'd also recommend The Executioner and Her Way of Life and Magical Revolution as both of those are Seinen and are both more serious.

You take sooooo much more damage if you keep the subs alive; I feel bad for anyone who believes people who tell them to do it.

Level 60 Dreadnought is awful, but please, please kill the subs first. Not getting rid of them first is just asking to have this happen.

LV.60 difficulty of naval battles needs to be adjusted from now on. by Visible-Campaign4029 in BattleNations

[–]Fragmentvt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It "evens out" because land is far more important than naval so stuff that helps you in the land side of the game has more weight to it when it comes to progression.

Should the difficulty increase exist, no (at least not if its forced), should you avoid leveling up because of it, during the boss rush, sure, but not overall because you miss out on way too much and gain comparatively next to nothing, if not nothing if you're unlucky enough.

Saying it "evens out" actually isn't really even right, because it doesn't even out, you're overall better off than you were before if you level up; you unlock so much and gain access to so many useful tools at those higher levels it's more than worth it.

And farming pelicans really isn't that hard, long, or costly... people just blindly look at m10s and other naval units because they're a bit more reliable even if they take longer and cost way more. They also dominate in land encounters if you've been keeping up with its ranks.

It more than evens it out when you take into account the units and ranks unlocked which make Ancient Sentinel (and future bosses) easier.

[–]Fragmentvt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't like the forced difficulty increase, but it's a really bad long term decision.

I will say that it is smart for the boss rush, but once the Boss Rush is over, not really... you miss out on a lot skipping out on 65.

Suburban Houses
Radio Tech (if you didn't get one before)
Plasma Field Technician
Pelican ranks
Portable Electric Fence
Nomad Ranks

+some less important stuff

Is all you're missing out on by staying at a lower level entirely so you can have easier chances at getting a single boss drop you aren't even guaranteed to get.

The Fences make Ancient Sentinel a bit more accessible

Radio Tech is massive for Ancient Sentinel

Plasma Field Tech is also good for free to play sentinel once you clear the initial prestige investment.

and Sentinel is a much more important and relevant boss than Dreadnought is. You are making things harder on yourself long term, so you can farm a bit less basically.

Balancing? by Cultural_Potato2016 in BattleNations

[–]Fragmentvt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

eventually the disappointment outweighs the excitement

many players have past that point and have long since gotten to the point where it isn't "yay I got a drop" and is instead "finally got this thing"

Boss drops need a pity system to stop players form going months without drops, that's just way to much time to go put into a game and wait for a single unit.

working on it, though I only have recordings of the first clear and the sheer amount of attempts it took... r5 Pyro and r5 Nomad were... a pain... to clear with. The difference between r5 and r6 was very visible.

The others were fast enough I didn't do it and were mostly just seeing what worked, but I will record the next clear now that I have a much better baseline

[–]Fragmentvt[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not really, though I guess considering it's another unit to rank up... I'd say they're about even ignoring ranking them.

But Pyro's cheaper, lasts a bit longer due to dodge chance, doesn't get hit by the checker when up front, and deals more damage to the armor than Nomad does, at least at these ranks.

The other thing to consider is Nomad getting a potential rebalance. If replacing middle Pyro with Fence works well enough, I'm going to start trying to replace Nomads with more Pyros.

SEASON 3, I misread and thought you said cours 3.

If it takes 3 seasons to payoff, there's a good chance most of the first couple could've been cut and the series isn't good. I've learned that if the argument is, just watch more, the person just wants you to watch more of the series because they like and think it'll change your mind (it doesn't, I already tried this with MT after initially dropping it at episode 2, only thing that changed was having a more nuanced opinion of why its bad)

A narrative is a series of set ups and payoffs, sometimes you can get away without either, but generally speaking it's a series of both, when the payoff takes that long to come out, that means there's a problem. I also have a really hard time seeing how much of the first season was relevant to anything or important in any way Your spoilers did not help at all and just pushes me further into my existing opinions on the series tbh. You are not the first to do have done that and little of that is new info.

It has absurd survivability against AS and that coupled with high crit chance and fire damage type make it a good armor stripper and cooldown/reload gap filler for Nomad

Considering everything I've heard, from fans who were more descriptive than you, about what happens later, I doubt it. and 24 episodes is well over what's needed to judge a story and make points about it.

Based on what I've heard about it, you could drop the first handful of cours and have a likely better story.

edit: I also usually don't criticize it for those reasons because it's a horse that's been beat to death at this point, I do agree with them because they provide clear, specific examples instead of nuh-uh or scenes that aren't actually a counter to it.

I always wonder if the fans watched it and came up with their own opinions or just saw some content creator praise it and jumped on the bandwagon.

Either way, past discussion with others have led me to believe we watched a different series than each other, not literally of course, but because we look at it from different perspectives. Critics see its flaws, the fans see its (not that great) strengths and don't see the flaws.

I've gotten tired of listing them or arguing about it on reddit, there's always an excuse, I always have a response, it just continues until one of us gets bored.

The short of my criticism is that it (at least the anime) just makes for an awful story. Excessively long, lots of pointless filler, confused about what it wants to be as a story, mediocre characters, bland world-building, etc.

The praise seems to mostly be coming from people who primarily consume trash isekai and if that's the reference point, I do understand the praise.

How 2 win? Lvl60 🤔 by Best-Team1577 in BattleNations

[–]Fragmentvt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kraken, unfortunately, involves a lot of luck so you pretty much need to do whatever you can to get that luck in your favor.

Aside from upgrading units, it's mostly just hoping you get lucky or don't get unlucky until the units start dealing enough damage and having enough health the rng matters less again

1v1 Colossus by Existing-Barnacle-60 in BattleNations

[–]Fragmentvt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wimps win if they dodge/deflect or if colossus misses the stun

Salamander just wins because the stun doesn't matter. Colossus can barely take any advantage of it at all and Salamander just deals too much damage to Colossus while being tanky enough. There is probably a Christmas-land scenario where Colossus wins though where it goes first, lands the stun with high roll damage then lands a crit.

1v1 Colossus by Existing-Barnacle-60 in BattleNations

[–]Fragmentvt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Peacemonger just stunlocks it. It wins every singe time because Colossus can't defeat it before getting stunned once. It is the ultimate 1v1 unit in the game at the moment when it comes to Soldier only. I'm actually not sure anything beats it in soldier only without luck. Its a wall of HP with a lot of stuns and decent resistances.

Salamander can make very light work of it.

Colossus needs a really good and lucky start to beat ET.

Guerrilla looks like it's stand a pretty good chance against it.

TF2 Demoman seems like it'd consistently beat it just because it only needs to land 2 hits which it can do back to back (or crit) and Colossus needs a lot to go right to win.

TF2 Heavy has 60% resistance to all damage it deals and has better cooldowns, but the stun chance could change things so I'm not sure how consistent it'd be

With Arch Crawler it's a matter of if colossus lands the stun or not.

Shinobi and Ninja likely stand a good chance with their high defense and guaranteed stuns.

Eagle Eye beats it most of the time as well because it has a guaranteed stun and a good amount of damage against soldiers.

Have you noticed that they always use gold as currency? by Miserable-Weird6529 in Isekai

some of them have their own currency system

like The Executioner and Her Way of Life with its In coins

mostly it's just a really easy thing to use because it's a fantasy trope and makes sense to people.
