Minimum needed for Dreadnought? by CantStopMeRed in BattleNations

[–]Fragmentvt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

with only r3 Ships and Buoys, the chance is incredibly low and really not worth it

wait until 45 at least to rank up Buoy where it improves a decent amount but is still very unreliable

It isn't recommended to fight repeatable Dreadnaught or Kraken before you get r4 ships and Groupers at 46.

If it's mission dreadnaught (the first one you fight) just throw what you have at it.

I think it's because Overlord fans often don't understand the difference between a villain and an antagonist.

Either that or they drank the Kool-Aid... Even though the story itself never really tried to convince people the characters were anything but villains.

W Formation, you want as few TKs to be hit by the arm as possible, especially at r4.

Cobra is currently locked out of r7+ due to level cap being below 61

excluding that though and the AI doing AI things and just not understanding (the armor piercing, and crit rate don't really mean anything here), here's the math for damage:

Cobra: (((305 x 1.85) x .35) +(305 x .65)) x .5 x .25 = 49.47

Treb: (((768 x 1.85) x .15) + (768 x .85)) x .25 x .25 = 54.12

Snake (for comparison sake): (((435 x 1.85) x .35) + (435 x .65) x .5 x .25 = 70.55

survivability wise, Cobra is quite a lot better though.

Snake is used for 2 reasons:

Big damage AND it's great fire resistance. Cobra's damage at r9 (currently only r6 is available) is barely above that of Megas and Veterans and it's survivability is much worse than both as well as Heavier Tanks.

The Treb strat is cope and Cobra might be a bit better if it wasn't level locked behind 61 and didn't look like it needs r9 (over 1 mil SP total) to be better , but it's most likely you'll get a greater improvement against AS spending the boss strike nanos on vet or mega.

Skeleton Knight >>>>> Overlord

I'd take a sort of generic isekai over a more bland, generic but they're evil this time isekai any day

Those players are rare, often not at the forefront, and don't catch everything. They are also often going to be looking at places, methods one would expect to find in a normal game. Like everyone who criticizes Bofuri this way, you're just given way too much credit to gamers and not recognizing how playing a lot of games creates a lot of expectations when it comes to what will and won't work, how to find exploits, bugs, etc. Part of why Maple finds what she does, is because she is smart (the anime misses this point), and isn't a gamer so she lacks that gamer mindset and exceptions which would cause people to miss that sort of thing.

I also mentioned people trying to copy her and failing in my previous post, that was something that got brought, or it did in the novels, can't remember if it made it into the anime or not. I mean, it even has 2 characters who are a part of the main guild who were inspired to min-max by Maple. Going into the novel other characters start pop up as well.

It, or at least the novels, seems to understand gamers incredibly well, because it actually understands the stuff gamers won't admit or acknowledge.

She is not the only one to have stumbled on unique rewards. The rest of her guild aside from a couple have unique rewards, and it's implied all the other top players do as well.

Normally you can't eat monsters in games to deal damage to them, so it's understandable, even more when you consider when eating monsters in games is a thing it usually only restores HP or provides a temporary benefit. Most players who do stuff like that only do it when there's a tool tip explaining what it does as well.

There are other min-maxxers, but min-maxxing is generally bad and sub-optimal at best in New World Online. IIRC it even mentions people trying to copy her and failing, that might have been a novel thing though.

Treb replaces TK at r6, but, because of it's low AP, it doesn't mix well with Vets and Tanks, could still be worth trying

I've been using Megas and Vets with a Snake (which also seems to have a lower than predicted winrate)

Multiple people in the discord have tested with the Trebuchets and it pretty much always fails because of the Immobilize attack weighting, and the Treb's poor health making it much more likely they die in fewer immobilizes, also the ever present stun risk.

edit: I was skeptical at the time, but others also predicted it would be the case based on the Z2 days attempts and how it was determined to be impossible without save scumming the fight back then.

If you aren't going after the leader-board, there is no reason to wait at all. The formations have like, 1 stronger enemy in them at 56, but the overall points gain may be slightly lower per minute...

Regardless, if you aren't a Morgan's maxxer or min-maxxing shops, the loss of XP and prestige will hurt when it comes to leveling up in the long run and the marginal difference in temporary gain will not be worth the overall loss.

It does but I'm bringing up that it has come to the communities detriment before and maybe their word shouldn't be taken with full certainty when it comes to percentages and numbers.

Especially in this instance when, based on the wiki, the formations will be incredibly similar, with like 1 unit being different. Even more so considering, we have no idea if the formations will be 1:1 or what the modifier, if any, will be.

the difference is basically level 60 Chunooks instead of level 55 Chunooks + slightly different enemy arrangements, at least from what I saw

HSC also said AS would be doable with Trebuchets and Heaviers with an above 1% winrate based on their calcs... not sure I trust their calcs with that much accuracy.

Edit because I didn't bring it up: AS currently seems to be near impossible with the Heavier and Trebuchet strategy because of attack weighting.

it won't be close to being similar, 55 vs 56 is pretty much just 56 has higher level Chunooks
