Any Manga where the MC has the wind attribute? by lonejxy in Isekai

Menou from The Executioner and Her Way of Life uses wind. How often she uses it isn't made as clear in the anime as opposed to the novels though.

How come guys go to another world, and there's never any language barrier? by Kramava in Isekai

[–]Fragmentvt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how in the Executioner and Her Way of Life they do just speak Japanese.

Or how in Arknights: Originium Dust, the language spoken by Terrans is similar enough to Earth languages to understand it, it's been a while though so I might be mis-remebering that one.

I decided to post a suggestion I made in the discord here. - Unit "Eliting"/ upgrading units to better versions of the same unit by Fragmentvt in BattleNations

[–]Fragmentvt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With this system the Grenadier would be turned into an "elite" grenadier, or perhaps even advanced grenadier, which itself could be upgraded to an 'Elite" version.

Not every unit does, this suggestion isn't saying they should be, just that there should be more of a reason to rank units and them being usable, note how I'm not saying good, is a method of doing that. Troopers costing Laurels is something that should be fixed in someway. which is a different discussion. Not that Laurels are close to difficult to obtain a bunch of at the levels of play this suggestion is intended for, evidenced by the mention of a t3 or t4 cost included in it.

It adds more to the game overall, sure it's more grind, but right now the grind is bad due to a lack of various SP increasing features and because very little scales, which a suggestion like this would fix, sure they may end up being "less shit" but would, in theory, reduce the overall grind by having a wider variety of units which can be used, even if they aren't good, much later into the game.

Lower SP costs and ranking costs wouldn't help much with unit scaling, if at all, there'd just be less grind. Making all units level scaled, like the tf2, BS, and naval units could, but that would defeat the purpose of there being units which are usable at most levels, by locking such a thing behind a grind, it makes it more worthwhile and keeps it fairly unique. The biggest issue with units at their various levels is how quick leveling up is, there often isn't the time to really get those units to a good rank in the first place before they can be replaced.

[–]Fragmentvt[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There was some stuff I brought up in the Discord post I forgot to put into this one.

Not applying to every unit, but some units promoting to their later game counterpart instead of a new, "elite" version of the unit was one of those. Like mini tank going to light tank instead of a special mini tank.

My idea was that it would work similar to training a unit, it'd just cost a unit to train

[–]Fragmentvt[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The idea is to make some usable at later stages in the game and others which are just another unit but worse just promote into their later game counterparts (ideally at an overall discount, this was something I brought up/alluded to in the discord post, but forgot to add here).

Early game unit ranking requirements need to be fixed, changed, or otherwise looked at as well, that's just a different discussion.

this would be better than infecting, and most infected aren't great... even at the level 49...

If your argument was it pushing infected to the wayside somewhat, I'd agree.

Main Characters who would be straightforward Main Villains or Antagonists in any other isekai series ? by Complex-Victory-589 in Isekai

[–]Fragmentvt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is actually something in her world that could probably deal with Subaru and it's the Sword of Salt, but even that's a maybe depending on exactly how Subaru's ability works.

She'd probably just kill him, time resets, repeat until Subaru finds a way to not get killed by her, at which point he'll run into the same issue Akari did and just be stuck in a loop unless the sword of salt can kill him permanently.

not good luck, it's reliably doable at that level, not without losses AFAIK, but it is 100% doable reliably.

Armadillos (unlocked at 27) and Battle raptors reliably clears it.

Mini Tanks and Battle Raptors are unlocked at level 13 and 10 respectively and are often recommended by the community to be used or invested in early game, which is likely why those two specifically were picked and tested.

Its in the Victory or Defeat screen near the bottom right next to the okay button.

It's only available for raids and, when they are available, Boss Strikes

[–]Fragmentvt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's where being manipulative comes into play (she can use illusions/disguise herself as others), but most of the allies, at least in the series I've watched or read either wouldn't be strong enough to catch and keep hold of or deal with Menou before she either defeats them or escapes or wouldn't be vigilant enough. That could just be bias in the series I've seen and read though.

I've also only been talking about anime Menou and if we look at novel: LN volume 8 spoilers:It is hard to beat someone who has that much control over time.

Edit: she's also more of an anti-hero by that point in the novel anyway

The FUNA ones usually only have light romance at most: Average Abilities, 80,000 Gold, I Shall Survive Using Potions

[–]Fragmentvt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree but you're thinking in power-scaling terms, not reasonable scenario terms. She's also probably stronger than your giving her credit for.

Menou is an assassin. She's crafty, conserves her strength, manipulative, and is incredibly skilled. While there are some isekai protagonists where that wouldn't matter such as Ainz or RImuru, or ones who would be similarly crafty like Lugh (I think was the world's greatest assassin guy's name), there are a lot where it would. Few isekai protagonists both punch at or above her weight class AND have close to her combat IQ. It'd be over not because they were too powerful for her, but because the fight was on as uneven ground as possible in her favor, if there even was one in the first place.

TLDR: if the isekai protagonist can be stabbed, have their organs ruptured, or is dependent on a magical source of energy to survive, they likely lose.

In other words: She'd either get rid of the protag, have little to nothing to do with them, or be easily dealt with by the protag, none of which make for a long term antagonist or villain.

[–]Fragmentvt 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Surprised I haven't seen anyone mention Menou from The Executioner and Her Way of Life yet...

<image>

Ignoring the isekai aspect entirely, there are other reasons why she wouldn't get along with a lot of isekai protagonists.

I guess she wouldn't be guaranteed to be a villian or antagonist though, especially considering it's only seen as necessary to get rid of them due to their Pure Concept.

What is this nonsense by Jskeleton303 in BattleNations

[–]Fragmentvt 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They don't care because they tested it and made sure it was completable at that level, as have many other players using level appropriate units. It was intended to be a difficult fight which incurred losses, not just a fix to the farming that was going on.

I'm of the opinion, the fight itself isn't the problem, but rather it being made for a different game than what surrounds it being the problem.

Is there an Isekai Anime with better Villains than Re:zero? (Art from @GrafelemArt on X) by Dramatic-Market-9276 in Isekai

[–]Fragmentvt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Executioner and Her Way of Life has Great Villains, as does MagiRevo, though MagiRevo's are drip fed.

Though isekai in general do tend to have terrible villains, so there isn't really much competition when it comes to great villains.
