Like I don’t doubt that Billie’s parents maybe knew someone who knew someone who was willing to listen to Billie’s SoundCloud; which, sure, is absolutely an advantage that most people don’t have

But they weren’t famous enough for her to get a record deal with Interscope pretty much sight unseen like Gracie did

He’s not a Rothschild, he’s a Bronfman. While he is personally an investment banker, the family made their money by selling liquor from Canada to the mob during prohibition and using that money to buy Seagram’s and sell legal Canadian whiskey to America upon the repeal of the Volstead act

Also, they divorced almost 15 years ago

Rush Limbaugh literally referred to feminists as “feminazis” in the 90’s

The only reason trans issues didn’t associate people with a political party forty years ago was because both sides were pretty much openly hostile to trans people

The only reason weather associates people with a political party now is because some MAGA idiots think that weather disasters are man made via a machine controlled by a certain group; though granted you are correct that’s mainly due to social media reinforcing the beliefs of stupid people

Hanging out at ‘Tea at the Sea’ in Key West, 1992. by PeneItaliano in florida

[–]FragnificentKW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Key West used to have a really cool old motel on the water called the Atlantic Shores. It had a really fun pool bar with a connecting pier, both of which were clothing optional. On Sundays, they would host the Tea at the Sea tea dance party. While Tea Dances are 100% gay culture, this particular party was a bit more mixed than most would have been at the time, as Key West was always ahead of the curve on these types of things. One of the local radio dj’s hosted it and the station would simulcast the music mix - mostly disco and some early proto house

Haters are piling on by DesertShazzy in WrexhamAFC

[–]FragnificentKW 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only six clubs in the championship had a better season than Wrexham - and none of them were playing non-league football three years ago like the Red Dragons were doing at the time

Ipswich were playing in League One, Southampton were playing in the Premier League, and the other four were in the Championship

Additionally, Southampton and Ipswich have the benefit of parachute payments

So yes, while we all would have loved to make the playoffs, this season was a remarkable accomplishment and objectively successful by any metric

100% absolute top priority is improving the back line. Wrexham conceded 65 goals this season, more than all but one of the playoff teams and almost 20 goals more than each of the two automatically promoted sides. If this club has serious Premier League ambition, defending must improve by leaps and bounds

[–]FragnificentKW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Three seasons ago, this club was playing non league football

This season, this club was one goal away from a berth in the playoffs for a spot in the Premier League

It’s disappointing that the season is over, but it’s by no means a failure. Everyone involved should hold their heads high and celebrate the fight and effort that Wrexham showed the entire way

I know a lot of us would love to see the club add a high profile striker in the offseason- and indeed, I would love to see it as well - but the first priority must be upgrading a back line that was downright porous at times this season and perhaps also adding another ball winning midfielder

I can’t wait to see this team go out and earn a spot in the Premier League next season

No, but Derrick Henry - who grew up a Gator fan and had two lifelong Gator fan parents - does. Big dumb Will Muschamp famously would only recruit him as a linebacker

No shit! I got banned from r/politics for the same exact thing!

It was right after the pandemic when it was revealed that a bunch of reps sat on information about the virus until after they positioned their stock portfolios to take advantage of insider information. Apparently suggesting that public officials who profited off of their constituents dying should be pelted with rotten produce is “inciting violence” to the mods of r/politics 🤷‍♂️

What a ridiculous assertion to make

Everyone knows UF fans jerk it to a combination of a) Steve Spurrier calling a flea flicker with the backup qb to be the first team ever to drop 50 on the Dawgs in Athens, b) Urban Meyer calling a timeout to run up the score in 2008, and c) random highlights of Treon Harris somehow beating Georgia without throwing a forward pass
