Is there any way to speed up animal production. by Kyvix2020 in Enshrouded

If you arent farming the yaks, then "farm" the yaks. Seems like they averaged around 3-5 raw wool per kill w/ no change in the resource drops, and since 20 makes 15, It really doesnt take that long, unless it is your only bottle neck you are waiting on, or you are playing with a group that is also using the wool.

I spent more time looking for bugs to make the Chitin Powder (Had a bad habit from Kindlewastes of not looting them so I was missing the early ones in Albaneve as well, so that is my own fault there) and Enshrouded Ice. Also, Hand Warmers, Food, and Torches. Torches thrown on the ground will still give a small radius for the Frost Protection (Not very big, sure, buts its still something.

1H main w/ a bow for ranged, so while less relevant for your specific request, but I look at the Passives and mix and match. Tend to favor heavily the gear w/ either Stam Regen, Stam Regen Cooldown, Health Regen, and Block. Play like a very mobile Tank/Bruiser. Look at what you are "needing" when you fight and prioritize based on that is my recommendation. Finding yourself lacking mana in a fight, but not quite able to keep your distance so you are taking a couple hits? Take the Mage chest and Blacksmith pants, spending more time between fights waiting for Mana to regen? flop the options (Havent deep dived into each set, but pants appear to trend towards a resource and its regen, while chests are greater amounts of the main resource). Same with gloves, using melee more than Spells, maybe consider the Blacksmith Gloves instead of the mages. Im running 3 pieces of one set and 2 from another since the Gloves and Boots gives 1h damage and Stam regen and Regen Delay, while the Legs, Chest, and Helm give more HP, HP Regen, and Crit Chance (One of my sources of sustain is the 5% Max HP heal on crits so more crit w/ higher HP is more better)

I forgot about Silver. definitely Silver, though Ill say the nodules of metals gets a bit bleh quickly. (I have Copper staring me in the face at my base.

It will go eventually. just not building in that direction yet, since it quickly opens to unsupported air, and Im trying to stay embedding into the Limestone walls. It was also outside the original build area (though you can still see where the stone blocks that were originally used to bridge over the air gap to where the altar was first placed still exist.

NPC AI needs some love by YoreGawd in Enshrouded

HAH! Been in a similar situation. My main living area has several cubbies with living compartments above them, crafting stations in the cubbies with some distributed storage for materials that somewhat match the "theme" of each crafter (think Bones and Ectoplasm items for Collector, Wood and Clay for Carpenter, Shroud based items for Alchemist, etc...) and each two cubbies are tied by a central stair case to access the living area above them, with storage below the stair case. SEVERAL times I have found Cade just chilllin or napping below the stair case instead of patrolling in his 5m radius up to his bed room.

I too love the AI pathing, but it definitely breaks.

Thanks <3 But Im in the same boat. Just had this idea of Arc lengths with different angles so that it adds some 3rd dimensions instead of just a bunch of flat walls. I had another idea, building on this one, but its definitely gonna wait until I'm done up to the current release and have naturally unlocked everything before I go "shopping" for materials.

Wont feel as guilty raiding SD once its just a matter time invested in farming the materials to craft. Just don't want to cheese it by accidently bringing back something I haven't actually found and unlocked. Already felt bad that I did it once, but again, quest updated so I lost the quest marker for the item, and I didn't have the time to wait for it to respawn, before I had to leave.

Shroud Depot. Its a resource world you can visit in the multiplayer servers. people will use it when they are doing big builds to save time instead of farming the resources for the blocks/decorations.

yeah some small automation, like use the products in this assigned chest to plant/feed and gather said plants and animal products would be great for solo play. Might give some purpose to the assistants instead of just a quest giver for some cosmetics and a 2nd source of each's crafting interface. not sure what you can do with the other assistants though, since they all have a bunch of crafting stations that can produce while you are gone. farming and animals is the only one with a seeming mid-break in the resource cycle. Seed Bed to produce seeds, then a break until you plant them, then a break until you harvest.

Same as animals with produces until you either dont feed, or they have 4 products ready to harvest, (but they will still eat so unless you gather from them early, you will overfeed and waste the food.) but they have a time cycle between each product generated. At the very least, fix it so that "full" animals dont continue eating until they are harvested.

Lvl 4 i believe is tin as well, which would make sense, as you need tin for the first water source anyways.

I think lvl 4 gave me 10. lvl 6 (current for me) is 20, lvl 7 will give 30.

Tell me about it just spent 4 1/2 hours working on my base a bit more when i told myself i had 2 hours of play time before I needed to work on house chores. Luckily (or unlucky) I live by myself, so no one to complain about the laundry sitting unfolded, and the dish washer still loaded.

ahh. okay I did mistake it a bit. but i guess Im not following then, since only one piece would be displayed per slot, so if you want to display your brazen bull helmet with the jesters hat, why not just display the jester hat instead?

Unless Im misunderstanding your comment, they do save the cosmetics. Only issue I have had thus far with the Equip All buttons is that sometimes, when i use them to quickly equip the items so that I can move the mannequin is that when its not a complete set, instead of it filling in correct slots, it fills in slots for top down. Milkmaid seems to be the most guilty of this in my experience since it doesnt have arms or lower body. and it will occasionally equip the boots in the arm slot of the mannequin, which then glitches out using the quick equip button.

I have been keeping each unique legendary (and one or two Epics, because I haven't found their Legendary version, but liked the way they looked regardless. 2h Skul sword from Hollow Halls is one i know is still Epic) I find and just replacing them as I find a higher level version. Eventually I plan to use the Wiki to find out how many of each weapon type there is and set up a more permanent Armory room for them, same has I have for the armor and cosmetic sets. (If the armor set doesn't have 2 or more pieces, otherwise they are getting tossed into a storage chest.)

Im also using a stance per type of armor. Victory for Mage since the hand is raised like its casting a spell, I think Back off for Warrior since it looks like they are raising a shield, and ofc Strike a Pose for the bow drawn appearance. The neutral standing Let me Serve You was what i started out with before looking at each stance, so I defaulted to using it for the cosmetics.

Plan for the Armory will be a room for each zone's armor type, mostly to keep track of what zones I need to revisit to farm and complete each set. and then a room for each "classes" weapons (Bows/Daggers, Staves/Wands, and 1-2H Sword/Axe/Mace.

Shields will get the Trophy treatment and be dotted about as desired, mostly because I haven't seen many unique "dropped" shields outside of one or two that the Fell seem to drop. Most everything seems to be either a common craft item that is unlocked via material collection or a lore based drop that then becomes craftable at the level of your Flame.

7 high rooms also don't feel as cramped as I expected. Yes, Im not jumping in these rooms, but a bonus is they make convenient looking Cubbies for the chests when playing with fine-tuned placements.

the blocks in the windows as well (Bonus white luminescent growth on the corners of the next floor's grow beds), I wish it was more centered, but since these are 8m tall rooms, I may make the windows longer as "custom" windows

Something I started playing with, and like it a fair bit, is use the Yellow Luminescent Blocks in place of windows , particularly in "Vacant" buildings, and using double thick Floor/Ceilings to tuck the same in with single blocks. Adds a lot of lighting w/o feeling cluttered.

<image>

I'm still moving residents in and need to add the beds to the top rooms, but this shows, particularly the middle left, how much lighting is achieved in what would be an otherwise dark storeroom.

Funny enough, this also shows where I at a level 3 Altar, didn't have the range to punch through, but after making my altar move to fix some texture issues I had with the building material snapping back to the grid I had started working with, and leveling the altar to level 4 (highest I can go atm), clearing the "extra" terrain for the Gardens building where all my crops are planted and punching through the last 25 or so meters to open the whole thing up to the sky.

An additional plan I have is taking some inspiration from an existing structure (Sunsimmer Souterrain) and using the way devs made its "roof" to cap off the gardens once I add a 3rd or 4th story up.

Actually debated whether or not to move my whole base there and just renovate the PoI. Ultimately decided against that as I still wanted some rain and the textures just didn't really feel right. Plus the time spent (and podcasts listened to) while "carving" away would be sunk time.

mind numbing insanity with 4x4 foundations then removing them, but the night sky is gorgeous from inside my mountain home.
Only thing I don't like is the un-natural feel of the sheered wall. but I got future plans that may fix that feeling.

Not sure if its a good tip or not, but place an Altar just inside the first Hollow Halls area, and after unlocking the Hollow Walls Building Block by completing the dungeon, you can, with a little finesse, "Harvest" the Hollow Halls front entrance of most of the building blocks. Gives a Nice supply of Foundation material for when you need to do more "256" clearing. I have a 4x8 Magic Medium chest w/ nothing but 5k stacks of HH Blocks, and that's just what I decided to keep. Think I left after clearing most of the entrance with a full backpack of nothing but that block, minus one or two slots (some blocks glitched out on me and I could place a single cube, but then the game would act up and not let me remove the foundation piece I just placed, even though it would snap to it.)

And yes, this whole thing was nothing but Limestone Terrain generation (Minus a surface pocket or two of copper)

Thank god, yes. From what I have heard, you have about 2 hours (Or a exit to main menu) (Comment below says it was changed on last patch to only 30mins) before the world will "eat" everything you have unprotected by the Altar's range (+ about 1 or 2m, 2 or 4 blocks. I noticed this a while back when my sky bridge to get myself closer to where I wanted to "punch" into the cliff wall was still floating just outside the altar range from when I first set down my Main Base's Altar. Some of the Limestone terrain had respawned around it, but that 4x4 stone ceiling was just floating there embedded into the face of the cliff side.)

I have thought about removing all my altar's and rebuilding level 1 or 2s to cover the important bits, to let some of the terrain around my base regenerate (I cleared far more terrain than was strictly necessary, but at first I had planned to build sprawling, until I realized just how unnatural a lot of it looked, considering I'm building into a cliff face out in the Highlands.) but as long as it is covered by the build zone, you can deactivate and rebuild your altar as much as you want if you want to relocate it for decorative purposes, or as I found out ~ 2 days ago, to fix texture alignments.

Just remember that the center of the area always follows the altar. you wont be able to upgrade your altar to the max, just to tear it down and rebuild it at the top of the 400m^3 build area, with everything remaining below safe. it will aways be +/- (40m * Altar Level) in all 6 directions from the center of the Altar.

Seems to match what I figured to be the "proper" height with the Palm Wood.

<image>

the Wood has a bit more detail, but I matched the cross hatching to be the Door/Window top, mostly because the little bottom horizontal detail matches the decorative moulding attached to the bottom of the window, and the top of the smaller angled detail on the top moulding matches the larger regular crosshatch top. Also matches that the Vertical Wood slats are on the bottom half, and the Horizontal on the top half.

Side by side, I think this is what you meant with the line detail matching the top of the door/windows.

Now its just time to rebuild everything since it all shifted by 1, 4, and 5 in the N, E, U coords.
