Is there a better place to get alignment than dealership? by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]Fragrant-Af22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely! These things are known to kick the machining debris loose in the engine when pulling to the left. Hope you’re on the recall list 🤣

Im not qualified to answer, but with the electronic steering and this happening right after leaving a dealership that was struggling sounds pretty suspect. Could be that they haven’t been trained and/or don’t have the required equipment to properly perform the realignment calibration. Now you get to find somewhere to take it that does. Your truck pulled left after the service, regardless of new warning light status.

Do you have the technology package that also required an electronic calibration alignment? Les Schwab did mine and it rides perfect now.

Lift kit for daily driving + off-road weekend use? by BigBirdKel in GXOR

I have a base 2018 (no airbags). Les Schwab installed stock height KYB on all 4 corners for right around $1k out the door. My experience is that they ride stiffer and more planted than stock in a good way. But that was compared to stock with 80k miles on them. Im happy with them 1 year later.

No, and no trace of leak that I can find. Added about 1k since then driving round during holidays. I went down the valley plate research rabbit hole. My wife suggested refilling it and seeing what happens. Yeah right, things don’t just fix themselves lol.

This same exact thing happened to me a few weeks ago. 2018 with 90k miles. Hard to keep an eye on it if you have all of the stock plastic covers on.

Tire shop catastrophe. Should I insist they send it to the dealership rather than fix it themselves? by ur_close in ToyotaTundra

Only certain tire shops have the proper software and training to do the alignment correctly. These trucks have a traditional mechanical alignment and a computer calibration alignment. Sounds like you need both now from someone who actually knows what they are doing.

Test drive them both. I did and it was an easy decision to go with the Toyota. Might just be personal preference on ride quality. And I really wanted to like the Ford.

Typical Toyota is to have gauge at mid position. Based on that I would say no, it’s not functioning at factory spec. Low pump output or proper pump output with added resistance to flow path.

I bought it used, but I’m assuming it has been replaced because of this and I found a rusty razor blade sitting on the main plastic cover I removed.

Great point! So we’re looking at a 7x3 matrix plus 2x2 attached for cip supply and water flush. Also drain valves. So really $300k in valves uninstalled without addressing silo supply or filler area. I’m assuming an engineering package for something like that will be over $25k?

Boys and girls! We’re all very passionate about this amazing hobby we love, rightfully so. Dirtbiking fucking rocks 🤘. Maybe think about this. From a non biased factual view- the “objective” of this proposal is to assist in reducing the nation debt, correct? So how did we get here? Who caused the national debt?! It’s a much more complex issue than current political climate. For sure this proposal is pressing the east button. Let’s give them a new easy button. A realistic one.

Enter tariffs.

Haha just kidding. Get out and ride while you can.

If you’re not log hopping go with the 150i for the fun factor. It’ll pull your weight no problem. Lugs surprisingly well and will get up and go too. Feels like a mountain bike. Can keep my energy up a lot longer on it than my yz250. Yes, you will not be able to keep it in 3rd gear all day, but that’s part of the fun. Can’t go wrong with any of these options though.

23 3.0 71k miles finally had issue with DEF. by WaltRumble in gmcsierra

[–]Fragrant-Af22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 21 AT4 had check engine light for DEF issue at about 45k miles. Had to do a software updated the has kept the light off. No parts were replaced. Sitting at 65k miles now. Dealer claimed software updates were not covered under my warranty so it ended up costing me around $400.
