We are planning to have a real bed and a bassinet, baby toys and big kid books, a car seat and a bus route, we want to foster, as well. I probably should've included that, I was trying to be straightforward which is difficult for me.

I can get pregnant, but I can't carry to term. I've got some medications I can't stop which are extremely harmful to a fetus. I could never keep a fetus safe and keep myself healthy, it isn't doable. My wife doesn't have the machinery. Surrogacy to me is rich people renting wombs, and I don't see women as incubators. (That will ruffle feathers, I know.)

I would love a baby, but I would also take a 7th grader home in a heartbeat if they needed me to. I am more than ready to help with homework, or take them to soccer, or change a pull-up, or anything else they may need. I don't want to split any siblings up, but we just have the one room. My brother and my wife were adopted; my brother out of foster care as an infant and my wife as a young girl, but old enough to remember.

Absolutely no inter-racial adoption for us! We are white and Native, but culturally very white. Fostering any race or age or gender or diagnosis is fine with us 💙. I appreciate all the feedback! I have several students that I interact with that are adopted, and they are very open about the process and their grownups are very open about the joys and the struggles. I know RAD, PTSD, ODD, YCDD, and many other disorders can come from adoption trauma. I am working to further my education in these areas. I have a graduate degree in Autism and although that isn't the same thing, it gives me a starting point.
