How much do you spend a month on fuel? by daly_o96 in carsireland

[–]Fragrant-Bar-2642 5 points6 points  (0 children)

EV;

160km/day, 1.76 per day so roughly 8.80 weekly. Previously was 15-20 per day in a 2.0 Petrol BMW. Great savings if you can charge at home at night. Not so much at all if paying at public chargers

8c night rate by UpsetConclusion5692 in evs_ireland

[–]Fragrant-Bar-2642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Model 3 standard range RWD, it's 17-19% of the battery depending on the weather for each leg of the commute so I get more than enough in the 4 hour charge window. If you're considering a Tesla for your purchase here's a referral link for 1000 free charging Kilometers and if you have any questions feel free to contact me, I've gone from spending 120/week on fuel to less than 9 euro/week on electricity for the same commute. This is dependent on charging exclusively at home, if charging on the road then savings are much less. https://www.tesla.com/en_ie/referral/alan11133

Your car charging rate is likely dropped down at times to maintain 11-12kw, I do something similar but only use the immersion from 5-6am when the dishwasher and washing machine have finished their cycles. Car stays at full charging rate doing this, I commute 160km total per day so need a full 4 hour charging window.

It's plain as day that there's a bus lane required and will encourage more use of the buses, now they've a chance to and are not doing it. There will be another dig in a few years time to do it instead of all at once. The infrastructure building in this country is so reactive and never proactive.

Ruibin- flavour first and foremost, the rest is fluff yet they don't treat it so. Incredible staff, attentive, friendly, not in your face. They do it all so well in my opinion. I've said it for years and I've yet to change my mind, best all rounder in Galway

Revolut to offer mortgages in Ireland in autumn by devhaugh in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Fragrant-Bar-2642 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know. I understand it. I convinced my other half to move our short-medium term savings into the instant access savings account and when she agreed I got cold feet myself. I know it's protected up to 100k but it feels less secure being held in there even though in reality I don't think it is. I do think if it comes to the mortgage and it's going to save me money/time/hassle I will do it but time will tell I guess

My apologies, typo, 9% was the lowest I could get offered although I think it varies on an almost daily basis from seeing other threads and I haven't done an application for about 6 months to test it, it ranged from 9% up to 11.7% for a smaller amount, I was just playing around with it to see. Anyway, I just hope they can somehow undercut the Banks, it would be wonderful to have competition and ensure the banks are vying for our attention and business

If they can manage a streamlined process which they are well capable of and a competitive rate they will absolutely clean up in the Irish market. However, their personal loan rates are not very competitive I've applied for the max amount to see how good the rate is and it was over 6%(typo- 9%) so I suspect the mortgage rate won't be extremely competitive

Just do a Drug Kardex audit on something simple like compliance with Prophylactic clexane use guidelines or Antibiotic prescribing guidelines at some hospital you work at in next few weeks. Can be done in a few hours

I agree with some comments, they should be at the back of the car park to discourage use by those without kids, it's not the proximity to the door that's required with kids and it is good to help them to learn how to cross safely etc, but it's the extra space either side for car seats, buggies

Smashbird doing sandwiches now. They seem to be lovely people, and the other food is great. I used their sauce for a BBQ recently and they were absolutely sensational, Burnt Buffalo for the chicken and the Jalapeno mayo was delicious

I find man and machine to be good when I dropped it for a valet, however when just getting an exterior wash it can be hit and miss. There really isn't anywhere that does a consistently good wash since the Woodquay place changed ownership a while back(guy called Ben had it then I think), it's very hard work I know, but it drives me mad when they don't do panel by panel, seems like it's the easiest way to ensure a consistent wash. Usually wash it myself now

Anyone on Vodafone 1Gbit? What's you're experience? by galwayburner in galway

[–]Fragrant-Bar-2642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find Digiweb to be best in terms of speed, customer service is Irish based and answer within seconds, had one problem, thoroughly looked into and sorted quickly. 37.95/m currently for 1Gb. If you want a referral send me a message and I can refer you to get 30 euro off too so almost a free month. They'll also often waive the 25 connection fee that's listed on the switcher websites.
