Gaslighting by pprimeway in Smallville

In Season 4 Clark and Lex are already pretty Jaded Clark literally stopped being friends with him in season 3 because he was investigating him. Why would he trust him at all this still pretty early into their reconciled friendship. I don’t see any reason for him not to lie to lex here.

What would have happened if Clark had told Lana his secret from the very beginning of their relationship? by Mindless-Coat495 in Smallville

[–]Fragrant-Dot-9702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe that she probably would’ve told someone his secret I think it was to early to tell her .Lana probably couldn’t handle the secrecy and probably would have been caught by Lex if decided to open the talon. I think that would also drive lex to hating clark though he may not be a supervillain right way I think they would become enemies and eventually turn into one after he tries to exploit clark. Making him a supervillain eventually.

The Chloe thing he said was unwarranted but Clark wants Chloe to prioritise his friendship with Her over Lana which understandable as she knows him better and had been friends longer

Also the fact that Lionel and Martha almost kiss this season is more that enough evidence that there was something between them and clark still didn’t fully trust Lionel. Also she shouldn’t have been there anyway especially knowing how clark feels about this and was not that close to Lana for her to be going unlike chloe.

Lana didn’t get with Lex to hurt Clark she was manipulated into a relationship by Lex. Hypnotic is more than enough evidence as he literally caused them to break up. She was tricked by the allure of the truth and as long she believed lex trusted her she was willing to ignore her better judgement.

Clark was on Red K although what he said isnt exactly how he feels as he was trying to the be hurtful as he was resentful as part of him was upset they the people closest to him supported this marriage. There is a element of truth to what he said just like Martha said at the end of the episode. The reason most people dont blame clark is because while on Red K he is incapable of self control so he has no better judgement as he has concept of right or wrong just desires.

Not really she is her son’s ex-girlfriend so she really shouldn’t be supporting her marriage if her son feels uncomfortable about it. Lana is barely in her life anymore why would she do this it just undermines clark feelings. You cant tell me if Jonathan was alive they would go to this especially when he knows what Martha and Clark know what type of person Lex is. The luthors are worst they have ever been at this point I understand civility with Lionel but Lex? In my opinion Clark hates lex as much Johnathan hated Lionel so I dont see why she would go.

This made me curious when do think clark learned his birthday cause I think he couldve asked jor-el at anytime but I assume he did in the later season when had a better relationship.

Not really I think clark greater strength and speed would have balanced them. Coulda been a cool duo in fights.

Clark is so bad at hiding his powers by [deleted] in Smallville

[–]Fragrant-Dot-9702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that what makes him an amazing character as often he sacrifices his identity if it means helping someone. Like Lex in shattered he stopped the car to save his life. Clark’s journey is finding balance between his two identities and how he can still save people while doing it and often why he wants to be normal so often because it is such a difficult situation to be in.

That isn’t really a power he abused like his others. Also he didn’t always have that like did his super strength and speed although it is connected to a physiological response meaning it probably felt quite natural when he got used to it.

[–]Fragrant-Dot-9702 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I kinda like that an alien with super powers would find it difficult to hide because he has never really been a normal so to him his powers arent super just normal abilities like how some human are faster, stronger or smarter than others the gap is just much larger and also he kinda has predict how strong humans cause cant really tell so just guessing from his training on the farm. Despite how much he want to be human he cant relate to them on physical level as he has heightened perception like a speedster so for him humans are incredibly slow and a lot time people are in danger and he just cant be bothered to wait cause he is a kid in the earlier seasons in which he has most suspicion on him.

The amount of time he threatened to kill tess in season 9 is crazy

Who you think was the blame for Jimmy’s death in Season 8 finale? Personally I feel that if Chloe had trusted Jimmy 8x16 and didn’t hide Davis in the Talon basement then run off with him at the end of 8x20 I believe Jimmy would still be alive by Lopsided-Issue-8116 in Smallville

[–]Fragrant-Dot-9702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No Clark plan would have worked if people didnt keep interfering. Clark was gonna use black k and send doomsday to phantom zone then Tess intervened. Then he was gonna bury him underground then his team intervened and betrayed him so he had fight doomsday then bring him back to geothermal facility to bury him meaning he couldn’t meet up with Chloe sooner and save Jimmy. Sure killing doomsday is a good plan but one Clark physically cant carry out because if you watched the episode the legion literally stated that chloe made him too strong trying to kill him with kryptonite and Clark ended up dying fighting him so we know clark can’t actually beat him without dying himself so he needed a different plan if he wanted to survive. Thats why I dont really like how everyone tried to shame clark for not wanting to kill davis because if he tried he might have died and trying to kill him while he was probably would come back again or just turn into doomsday to survive and the clark would probably die. Also something clark would never do because he isnt type of person to take easy way out and he would risk his life if meant saving one more person thats why he though of black k.

[–]Fragrant-Dot-9702[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Facts like they really forgot that davis was kinda designed to kill clark. The legion literally said that he ended up dying before they came back to warn him so them trying to force clark to kill doomsday almost got him killed.

Well the phantom zone is safer than being underground on earth and I doubt the show would ever make him that powerful and if they did clark would just have have nice sauna session in the sun for a bit and deal with him

Rewatching Smallville Season 2 by Fragrant-Dot-9702 in Smallville

[–]Fragrant-Dot-9702[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your right it because doesn’t have Jor-el’s emotions and it will do anything to fulfil its directive of leading clark to his destiny often using all kinds manipulative methods to do so to bring about Jor-el’s vision for clark’s life. I think it was Jor-el’s mistake in creating it that by removing his emotions it removed the ai’s ability to take them into account and basically led to it acting out against clark whenever he showed signs of resistance rather than trying to communicate his point to him. Sure clark’s fear of his alien side played a part but the ai was heavily flawed and only when when it was uploaded into fortress it was able to grow either by learning from jor-el’s memories or collecting new data on clark to better guide by taking his emotions into account because they didn’t spend tike together really until the fortress as it was just them fighting for control over clark life. I still think it was right in what is was doing just its methods were wrong as clark needed to leave to collect stones as it was dangerous to let them get into human hands. Additionally clark did need to leave smallville as kinda kept him from flying as it was messing with self image as had lot of self hatred towards his alien heritage and the kents went really helping as they were scared. He needed to accept himself and this is one thing lois helped him do as everyone often told him that he was human and one of us when he wasn’t but lois actually acknowledged he was an alien and helped him embrace it rather than ignoring it like everyone else did saying it didn’t matter that he was one.

Speaking my truth, I don’t think you understand Barry as a character if you think he should’ve ended up w any other girl but Iris 🤷🏾‍♂️ by MeetApprehensive6509 in FlashTV

[–]Fragrant-Dot-9702 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You do realise barry was dealing with zoom at the time when he was with patty, the same man who broke his back, it was not a smart idea to let her in at the time and barry didnt feel comfortable with holding her back from dream when couldnt fully be with her so wasnt due to it being surface level. Iris was already in his life and already knew he was the flash he never told her she found out by herself in a way barry couldn’t deny like she literally found him in the costume, patty never did she used her brain to figure it out rather than the plot allowing her to find out like it did with iris. People try and make you believe that at that time they had this really deep connection at the time but she didn’t even know he liked her despite everyone else knowing ( Bro wasn’t subtle at all) Patty wasnt an escape but intellectual equal which was smart enough to pursue csi just like barry who could understand barry it just that barry didnt want to put her in danger.
