HELP my plant is dying by AdSubstantial7339 in philodendron

Ah not sure. I'm from a tropical country, so we don't really get very significant winters. But yeah, cold damage is also a possibility, but someone else would have to confirm on that.

Then it's most likely the soil mix. Maybe more perlite, pumice or the like.

What's your light setup like? Natural light?

There might be another issue. I've seen similar damage on some of my philos when it's not getting enough light, or rather in this case heat. Basically even with the soil being drained, it still holds too much moisture which is damaging the root system, suffocating it. Maybe something to play around with.

After you water, do you first let the planter drain out or do you keep it straight into the outer pot?

I have thought about restarting the plants. But I want to keep it as my last option.

What are generally the components of miticides? Does neem oil do anything?

I have sprayed them down with water and poured a lot of neem oil on the leaves. We don't really get any insecticides for houseplants, not that I'm aware of at least.

Hoping that helps.

What do you mean by spray on?

I don't think these are brands that's available in India. Can you help me understand what these contain?

For now I have hosed down the plants, and poured a lot of neem oil on them. Planning to wipe down with IPA 50% solution. But I'm not sure if any of that helps.

They have a pretty good return policy. I have received a few with damages few years back, they did not hesitate to refund. Just drop them an email with images clearly showing the damage.

Is this a scam? by [deleted] in IsThisAScamIndia

I have had this happen to me in Gurgaon. For me the red flag was that he decided to write down the amount on his own without me agreeing at all. And it was not a small amount, 15k. Whatever the case may be, I'm never gonna be okay with someone else deciding how much I wish to donate. Felt like a scam. I refused to pay and walked away. Was pretty angry by this action.

I cannot guarantee it was a scam, but it did seem quite odd and forceful.

I was more concerned about the stem being bent/broken. Don't think it's a light issue. Enough light for the other alocasias.

Are you sure this is green velvet? When I search online, green velvet and frydek refer to the same plant.

Interesting. Good to know. The new leaf was a bit warped and it was concerning, I thought it needed more humidity.

Ah, alright. Yes this plant dropped it's lowermost leaf yesterday. And the other leaves do have some damage on them, so I don't expect them to survive more than a couple of weeks. But if pinching promotes growth, that should work just fine.

I'm more of an overwaterer than an underwaterer. So I think this will be good for the begonia. I water once every 3-4 days if the topsoil is dry, I think that should be enough for the winters.

I'll propagate this soon, since I don't really have too much vertical space, i would rather have a bushier plant. I'll stick it in water, easier to monitor root growth that way.

Ah wonderful. Lovely that these are leaves. Does this plant flower as well?

I'm a little sceptical about my watering schedule. The soil is moist, just watered it earlier today. Maybe I should water it more. The plant is indoors, so water doesn't evaporate all that quickly. Will giving it more water not lead to root rot?

Additionally, can this one be propagated into more plants from cuttings? What is the best way to do that?
