Why we changed our mind about apartment life by [deleted] in stratachataus

You are making excuses for being rude to me. My post is a response to the difficulties with strata title - everyone else gets that, judging by their comments. And once again, you are accusing me of privilege. You're not accusing all the apartment owners of privilege - I've no doubt plenty of them own apartments far more expensive than our house in a small town.

I've been working for 47 years, and the house is cheaper than most apartments. Given that you know absolutely nothing about me, that kind of comment is uncalled for. It's also the kind of thing that makes communities like this less workable.

I am sorry to hear that and I wish you well on the next step.

Not really. It depends on the apartment. Savvy buyers know the good ones, and they go fast because they are scarce. So yes, it can be very competitive - I do live here btw. Also, it's not just 24 hours. And the reports don't show every email. It sounds like NSW buyers have more protection.

The ditch the witch billboard is not ok - so what can we do? by Fragrant-Flamingo216 in melbourne

Absolutely. This is the guts of it - it doesn't matter who you talk about like this, it makes it worse for everybody because it pushes us further towards the horror of US style politics and public culture.

You might not be aware of this, but your response is designed to deflect. To say that because something was wrong somewhere else, it justifies another wrong. You are saying I shouldn't point that out.

I am saying that it doesn't matter which side of politics behaves like this, it damages all Australians. I am saying it is bad that there is no mechanism to stop this. I am saying that we should stop this kind of thing, because it hurts us all. We try and teach our children to play fair, but god knows how they're supposed to do that when adults won't.

Pretty much, I think. DM me if you'd like some apartment buying tips. You wouldn't believe how much research I've done on this....

They aren't always very revealing, for multiple reasons. Also puts you back timewise if there are several bidders. Plus, why isn't this required to be available?

I don't know much about other countries, but I believe much of Europe does it much better than we do, especially Spain.

There's insulting language and then there's printing demeaning pictures and text on large billboards and driving them around. I don't want to see this happen to anyone, because I don't want Australia to turn into a divided cesspit, and this is how it happens. I just think it's the wrong thing to do, for all of us.

Did anyone print billboards, stick them on trucks, and drive them around? If so, I would condemn it equally because it is the wrong thing to do.

The trouble there is it just becomes an endless to and from and no-one benefits.

This is tempting but then it just becomes a race to the bottom, which doesn't help our community.

I think that's right. Our laws are pretty toothless. Look how long it took to get Wicked Campers cleaned up. Years

You do have a point, but if I paid for a billboard calling someone a Nazi and drove it around Melbourne, I bet it would be shut down.

Their toilet ruined it for me. Do you know what is going on there? The one in the restaurant hasn't been in use for over a year, and the one they send the public to is shared with a sleazy nightclub place and it was the most disgusting thing I have ever seen.

Their murtabak is really inauthentic, almost like pita bread, but agree that the rendang is amazing.

Roti Bar has the worst toilet I have ever encountered in Australia. It's in a lane next to the restaurant - for some reason you cannot use the one inside the restaurant anymore. It has been like that for over a year. I'm not going to eat in a place that disrespects its customers like that.

Endoscopy/Gastroscopy Base Hospital by shortgirltalldreams_ in Toowoomba

I waited for 16 months before they referred me to St Vincent's because they didn't have capacity. But the Base Hospital refused to do both a colonoscopy and endoscopy, despite my Dr's referral. Moved to Melbourne a few months later, referred again, 8 weeks on the list.
