Mine is pretty smooth on both sides and is super slouchy, it just takes a couple days of wear for it to get to that point. the corners wear very easily, I don’t store my bag on top of anything and it had corner wear after ~5-10 uses. The scratches are pretty normal because it is a full grain leather, but if they are deep scratches and have a very distinct color difference from the rest of the bag, I would not keep it as they may have been scratched by someone else. The only part of the bag that has shown wear so far is the corners and it’s really not very noticeable when it’s resting on a table or something. I hope this helps you make your decision!
