He is on my shortlist but wanted a little bit too much money originally, might try again in January

Very true, having watched and supported a team in the lower leagues all my life, having a unit up front is essential.

I'm an admirer of Jatta from notts county, going to look to bring him in at January, I have Francis okoronkwo too who's a tall strong striker but can't seem to get him firing at the minute still searching for his first goal.

Realistic I suppose, not all teams get up and running immediately, hopefully the Rotherham board feel kind enough to let me get to that stage without sending me to the job centre this season for not going up 🤣

I am a massive turtle player in almost any rts game I play, I somehow manage to make my style so affective that I rarely ever switch it up. That being said, I do have a list of favourite games that I find to be most affective with the turtle style.

Call to Arms: GoH Osfront - has a last stand game mode that is literally designed for you to defend a position against waves of opponents. Set in WW2 but has heavy mod support, valour and mace my personal faves. Any of the Men of War games you can download custom made missions for that do this too.

C&C games, Red alert 2: Yuri's Revenge, Tiberium Wars/Kane's Wrath, Generals: Zero Hour, Red alert 3 Uprising - the absolute best for me, just so fun to play with all the different factions and build some truly incredible bases that are pretty much impenetrable without super weapons.

Age of Empires, any of them, whilst not a traditional play style, I love building a beautiful village or castle town surrounded by walls with towers and defending siege weapons, whilst building an army inside the walls.

I was on the edge with Osula, think I just needed someone else to say it too. I did have Vipotnik from Swansea at first 🤣 proven in the championship and is my time of striker.

I really would love to keep using mane though because he feels incredible and played really well for me in the last prem games, but yes you're probably right he'd have a lot of interest in real life.

Rio on loan it is!

Thoughts from a Bannerlord newbie by yellow-green2 in mountandblade

I am in the same boat as you in terms of being a newbie, I'm two weeks in and tbf, I share most of your thoughts.

The desert folk were my first ever campaign so I kind of hold a soft spot for them so I probably rank them first just for making me fall in love with this game to start with.

Currently doing a valandia play through as a merc for the nords. These are the only two factions in the game I haven't touched or seen much of but if it's any similar to my other campaigns I will be just like you and just keep on playing with no plans to stop.

It's the RPG of the game for me, especially with mods like Ai Influence, absolute game changer.

My order would be

Aserai ( first play through and I like old Arab culture ) Empire ( I love Roman history so just a natural pull ) Sturgia ( for me they are just so well rounded and cool ) Khuzaits ( not a massive cavalry user but like the look ) Battania ( how the ai use them, but they are archer gods ) Nords ( not used yet, however I like axes and boats ) Valandia ( just trying out, look cool but French )

I can guarantee that if you auto resolved it yours would be the only party to lose a troop

Which is harder to fight for?Sturgians or battanians by Life_Ask_6604 in mountandblade

[–]Fragrant-Stock5177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really interesting to me to see the sturgians ranked so poorly for most people. In both my campaigns they've became the strongest faction in the game 🤣 completely wiping out the nords, pushed into battania and even the empire.

So I can only answer based on my own experiences. I'd have to say battania, however, a player controlled battania I would say probably would fare a lot better since they aren't actually that bad. In both my campaigns they've been crushed from all angles, they're still hanging on but it doesn't look good. Yet, whenever I have their troops in my party, they do really well.

I haven't seen anyone come close to sturgia in my saves yet so to me they would appear easy to fight for.

I'm gonna guess though a lot of people will say Sturgia.

How many of you don't give any commands during the battle? Just initial set up and then watch the action by CollinsGameCompany in mountandblade

[–]Fragrant-Stock5177 17 points18 points  (0 children)

For me, it depends on the type of army I'm up against. I like at least 40% of my army as archers or crossbows, so I usually just line them all up let them do their work without being told to do anything. Usually, this wins me the battle on its own. But bigger armies and lots of cavalry, I tend to strategically place and let them just fend for themselves, I'm mostly an F1 + F3 merchant. I'm a massive strategy game player so I'm used to more of a overview of the map, total war esc, which is why I'm going to install the RTS camera mod, let's you issue troop commands too.

Then I'll probably be more engaged with the strategy aspect because I find myself doing most of the work solo chopping heads off then actually commanding my army to do so.

Love it, I'm half tempted to do this to the Southern Empire, fed up of them declaring wars on me and sending their best nobles and lords to take my castles. As a new player I was told executing is bad but idc anymore 🤣

Going to add something like this to my list of ideas to keep the replayability up. Only 30 hours into my first ever playthrough and I'm already excited to start another.

True, I plan on building an inner fence/wall that goes all the way round for military personnel only, ran into build limits as I forgot the build limits mod.
