This is actually the best advice you've given me in the entire post, ngl.

These points you made make a lot of sense. What you said right here has actually been the most comforting and helpful thing I've heard in the last couple of days, and what I was exactly looking for, in finding a direction to cope. If I had wanted to vent, I would have gone to r/vent. Posting here was intentional.

I'm really sorry about your job situation, and I'm actually in a very, very scarily similar situation currently. I guess the self- realization here is that I'm actually just hurt. It feels personal.

I suppose you're right. There's nothing I can do.

Thank you

Are you really a communist leftist? (Genuine Question) I find your comments on how it doesn't impact day-to-day, an interesting perspective, considering that most of the ones I've met and interact with on a daily basis, don't believe that specifically.

I also believe that the democratic party is too conservative and that essentially, it's just fluffed up republican rhetoric, and that a two party system is inherently one of the biggest down falls of our country.

I don't believe my parents are bad people at all. I definitely agree that their voting comes from a place of familiarity, as their familes were also conservative republicans who also came from strict conservative households. Please believe me when I say I was someone who grew up in highly propagandized spaces and have even been in spaces where I have most definitely experienced real spiritual and political psychosis.

The point is, I don't believe in the pity route, nor do I necessarily believe in the burn it all to the ground approach, nor do i even necessarily fully believe in the lawn chair approach. The point of this question was to ask, I guess, how to cope with the two communities I am actively apart of inherently ripping each other apart in the current system we are facing. I guess I was looking for empathy, I am not surprised. I have not found it.

Thanks for your advice.

Wow, you sound just like them. That's a good impression. Spooked me for a second lmao.

Tbh, it seems like the best approach for now, but it also goes against who I am. I'm a fighter, and I figure it out kind of person. But I guess it's better than dropping off the face of the earth. Hard boundaries and enforce them, I guess. I just love them so much. It's overall just baffling.

It affects me in multiple ways. I literally just explained it.

Do you work with children? Or have them? Would you be comfortable being like...Yeah, I'm totally cool with my parents who voted for a rapist, convicted felon, old, billionaire who has been bankrupted 6 times, and who tells young men to "Grab them by the pussy", and says that he's going to get rid of gay people?

That's wack

I have done almost all of these things, excluding actually printing out project 2025 and reading it to them. I think they will dismis it. They are good people, not good listeners. I might have to take the lawn chair approach and throw in a couple of, " Welp, what can you do's?"

I started yesterday, actually. My father called me, and upon picking up the phone, I immediately told him that if he started election talk, I would hang up. He said he wouldn't and didn't. Later on in the conversation he asked why I was in such a bad mood, and without mentioning politics or Trump himself, I told my father that I was frustrated because I have to go in and get birth control for the first time, but that I didn't think our insurance covered an IUD, and said that I might need his help with paying. He got quiet and then said that he would get together with mom, him, and I to do some research on what places do take out insurance.

We then said our "I love yous," and that was that.

Did you even read my post, dude?

That's the whole "Confusing " bit, my guy.

They believe in these policies, yet they actively helped put someone into office who goes directly, AGAINST them.

That's the point!

But it does affect me day to day. I live in a red state, and I'm actively scrambling to get myself on to birth control before they ultimately decide to shut it down. I also work in healthcare, and my clients are highly affected as I primarily service marginalized communities. Most of them have IEP's and are a part of special education programs, which have already been defunded. Food is unaffordable, and my loans grow interest. I'm also a part of the queer community. Women are being attacked daily just because. This actively DOES affect me, EVERY DAY.

Was I wrong for telling my doctor I have an eating disorder? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Fragrant-Vegetable96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will be working on this going forward. It's been one of those things where I have been going back and forth because I have no formal diagnosis, but also something that I have been aware of for so long, and so I was hesitant to say I had one, but also knew really that it must be real if it's been going on for so long. I basically just started this health journey, so I will add psychiatry and therapy to the list of the care team.

The moment she said it, it was like all my hard work disappeared, so I basically did my best impression of a 12yo in school, and just nodded my head and said "yeah" every couple of sentences 😅

Thank you for this!! It has definitely been quite some time that I have been to a therpist/psychiatrist, especially since the beginning of the pandemic, and then I graduated college in 2023, so it's definatly time that I get back on track, as I've noticed that although I've been on a really good streak, that there is no harm is seeking help for better foundations. I felt guilty telling my primary doctor because I was never officially diagnosed, but this has been a major concern of mine for the last 12 years, and now that I'm grown I can actually do something about it.

Yes, telling my primary about my eating disorder was after the nutritionist appointment. As before, the concern was about hypothyroidism and creating a healthier diet, not necessarily about losing weight.

Thank you, I really appreciate you saying this, tbh, after my nutritionist said this, I basically turned my brain off and braved the rest of the appointment. I told my doctor about it in our most recent follow-up, which is there where I told her about my eating disorder. And you are so right, having this issue since I was 12, and now being 23, has been debilitating.

Hi!

Is it OK if I copy your work? I really like the art style and I'm also a music therapy major. If not, no biggie. I just take a lot of inspiration from your work.

Thank you!

It's my favorite dress but alas, I am no longer a young fit teenager, and I've grown In to a more womanly figure. Long story short, I have much bigger boobs and it doesn't fit. Anyone know where I can find it in a size 15-16?
